9 Chapter 2: Hardware Setup Start Up Y our DiskStation 1 Use the LAN cable to connect the DiskStation to your switch, router or hub. 2 Connect the AC adapter to the power port of the DiskStation. Connect one end of the AC power cord to the AC power adapter , and the other to the power outlet.
10 Chapter 2: Hardware Setup Add a RAM Module on DiskStation The optional Synology DDR3 RAM module is designed for DiskStation memory expansion. Follow the steps below to install, check, or remove a RAM module on your DiskStation. T o in sta ll t he R AM m odu le: 1 Shut down your DiskStation.
