Chapter 1: Introduction 1-13 Slow Blinking LED for Suspend-State Indicat or When the CPU goes into a suspend state, the chassis power LED will start blink - ing to indicate that the CPU is in the suspend mode. When the user presses any key , the CPU will wake-up and the LED indicator will automatically stop blinking and remain on.

T o prevent dam - age to your system board, it is important to handle it very carefully . The following measures are generally sufcient to protect your equipment from ESD.

Notes: 1. Always connect the power cord last and always remove it before adding, re - moving or changing any hardware components.

This button can also be con - gured to function as a suspend button (with a setting in the BIOS - see Chapter 4).

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 Chapter 4 BIOS 4-1 Introduction This chapter describes the AMI BIOS Setup Utility for the X8ST i/X8STi-F/X8ST i-3F/ X8ST i-LN4 . The AMI ROM BIOS is stored in a Flash EEPROM and can be easily updated. This chapter describes the basic navigation of the AMI BIOS Setup Utility setup screens.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-3 System Overview: The following BIOS information will be displayed: System Time/S ystem Date Use this option to change the system time and date. Highlight System Time or Sys - tem Date using the arrow keys. Enter new values through the keyboard.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-7 Intel AES-NI (When supported by the CPU) Intel® AES instructions are a new set of instructions available beginning with the the all new 2010 Intel® Core™ processor family based on the 32nm Intel® microarchitecture.

Press "+" or "-" on your keyboard to change this value. TDP Limit Override Select Enabled to override the default power setting for the processor .
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-9 DCA Prefetch Delay A DCA Prefetch is used with TOE components to prefetch data in order to shorten execution cycles andmaximize data processingefciency . Prefetching too frequently cansaturate the cache directory and delay necessary cache accesses.
4-10 X8ST i/X8ST i-F/X8STi-3F/X8ST i-LN4 User ’s Manual Memory Mode The options are Independent , Channel Mirror , Lockstep and Sparing. Independent - All DIMMs are available to the operating system. Channel Mirror - The motherboard maintains two identical copies of all data in memory for redundancy .
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 1 SR-IOV Support Enable this item to support Single Root I/O V irtualization and Sharing (SR-IOV). The options are Disabled and Enbaled.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-13 over 137 GB, your system must be equipped with a 48-bit LBA mode addressing. If not, contact your manufacturer or install an A T A/133 IDE controller card that supports 48-bit LBA mode.

The options are Disabled and Enabled . Boot Graphics Adapter Priority Use this feature to select the graphics controller to be used as the primary boot device.
