Introduction Thank you for choosing the V oice Center Conference Phone, a high per formance audio conferencing system. Its features include: • Full duplex communication – the V oice Center’ s digital speech processing enables simultaneous two- way communication.
3 Quick Start Guide 3. Analog or Digital T elephone System? Caution: if the V oice Center is connected to a digital telephone system using the Analog T elephone System Inter face, it will not operate correctly , and may cause damage to the A T -101 Analog Interface and cause it to over heat.
Analog T elephone System Setup with Analog T elephone System If you are connecting the V oice Center Conference Phone to an analog telephone system, follow the instructions below .
W all Mounting of Analog Interface (Optional) • Install the two mounting screws supplied with the Analog Interface in the wall. Leave approximately 3/16 in. (0.5 cm) between screw head and wall. • Place the Analog Interface over the mounting screws and slide it down to fix it in position.
Keypad Functions with Analog Phone System ON/OFF Pressing the ON/OFF key turns the Conference Phone on to obtain a dial tone, or turns it off to terminate a call.
Conference Phone Operation with Analog Phone System Answering a call When the Conference Phone rings, press the ON/OFF key to answer the call. The green LED illuminates to indicate the Conference Phone is on.
Digital T elephone System Setup of Conference Phone with Digital Phone System Note: The DT -102 Digital T elephone System Inter face is required for use of the Voice Center Conference Phone with a digital phone system. Follow the steps below to set up the system.
4. Use Digital Inter face’s 4-position switch to adjust audio level by making a test call. • Lift digital telephone handset from its cradle, then press Conference Phone’ s “On/Off” key .
Keypad Functions with Digital Phone System ON/OFF Pressing the ON/OFF key turns the Conference Phone on to connect a call, or turns it off to ter- minate the Conference Phone conversation. The green LED just above the ON/OFF key illumi- nates when the Conference Phone is on.

General Setup T ips T ips for Obtaining Optimal Acoustic Performance •T o minimize echoes, place the Conference Phone at the center of the room, or at least away from walls (at least 20 inches/0.5 m from any wall). • It is impor tant to place the Conference Phone on the sur face where it will be used before applying power .
General Installation of External Microphones (Optional) The V oice Center Conference Phone has 3 built-in microphones for complete 360° coverage in areas up to 10 x 15 ft (3 x 4.5 m). The V oice Center Conference Phone has RJ-22 input jacks for two external microphones to extend coverage in larger areas and to allow for irregular layouts.
