4 Precautions Warning on power connections Use the supplied power cord. If you use a differen t power cord, be sure that it is compatible with your local p ower supply. For the customers in the U.S. A. If you do not use the appropriate cord, this monitor will not conform to mandatory FCC standards.
5 GB Identifying parts and control s See the pages in parenthe ses for further details. This display employs a touch sens or key system. You can operate the display by touching the letter s or symbols on the front panel. Touch sensor keys work only when they are lit.
6 Rear of the LCD display K AC IN connector (page 8) This connector connects the power cord ( supplied). L Cable holder (page 9) This part secures cables and cords to the monitor. M Security lock hole The security lock hole should be used with the Kensington Micro Saver Security System.
7 GB Setup Before using your monitor, check that the following items are included in your carton: • LCD display • Power cord • HD15-HD15 video signal cable (analog RGB) • DVI-D video signal cable (digit al RGB) • Audio cord (stereo miniplug) • CD-ROM (utility software fo r Windows/Macintosh, Operating Instructions, etc.
8 x Connecting to a Macintosh When connecting a Macintosh computer , use an adapter (not supplied), if necessary. Connect the adapter to the computer before conne cting the video signal cable. Setup 2: Connect the audio cor d Connect the supplied audi o cord to th e monitor’s corresponding au dio input jack.
9 GB Setup 5: Bundle the cor ds and cables 1 Slide up the back c over. 2 Remove the stand cover. 3 Secure the video signal cables, audio cords and speaker cord (or headphon e cord) us ing the cable holder on the cabinet. 4 Secure the power cord , connecting cables and cords using the cable holder.
10 If no picture appears on your screen • Check that t he power cord and the video signal cable are properly connected. • If “NO INPUT SIGNAL” appears on the screen: – The computer is in the power saving mode. Try pressing any key on the keyboard or moving th e mouse.
11 GB Selecting the input signal (INPUT) Touch INPUT. The input signal changes ea ch time you touch this key. On-screen message (Appears about 5 seconds on the upper left corner .
12 Customizing Your Monitor You can make numerous adjustme nts to your monitor using the on-screen menu. Navigati ng the menu You can adjust the menus by usi ng the touch sensor keys on the front of the monitor. 1 Light up to uch sensor keys. Touch an area of the touch sens or keys so they light up.
13 GB PICTURE ADJUST menu You can adjust the following it ems using the PICTURE ADJUST menu. • MODE (ECO mode) • BACKLIGHT • CONTRAST 6 • BRIGHTNESS • MODE RESET 0 • SMOOTHING Note • You can adjust the b acklight, contrast, and brightness for each ECO mode.

15 GB 6T o u c h m / M to select “PHASE” and touch OK . The “PHASE” adjustment menu appears on the screen. 7T o u c h m / M until th e horizontal str ipes are at a minimum. Adjust so that the horizontal stripes are at a mi nimum. 8T o u c h O K .
16 4T o u c h m / M to select R (Red), G (Green) or B (Blue) and touch OK. Then touch m / M to adjust the GAIN and touch OK. 5T o u c h m / M to select , then touch OK. The COLOR menu appears on the screen. 6T o u c h m / M to select “BIAS” and t ouch OK.
17 GB MENU POSITION menu You can change the me nu position if it is blocking an image on the screen. 1T o u c h M E N U . The main menu appears on the screen. 2T o u c h m / M to select (MENU POSITION) and touch OK. The MENU POSITION menu appears on the screen.
18 MENU LOCK menu Lock the control of keys to pr event accident al adjustments or resetting. 1 Touch MENU. The main me nu appears on the screen. 2T o u c h m / M to select (MENU LOCK) and touch OK. The MENU LOCK menu appears on the screen. 3T o u c h m / M to select either “ON” or “OFF” and touch OK.
19 GB Technical Features P ower sa ving function This monitor meets the power-s aving guidelines set by VESA, E NERGY S TAR, and NUTEK. If the m onitor is connected to a computer or video graphics board that is DPM (Display Power Management) Standard compliant, the m onitor will auto matically reduce power consumpt ion as shown below.
20 A u tomatic picture quality adjustment function (analog RGB signal only) When the monitor recei ves an input signa l, it automatical ly adjusts the pi cture’s position an d sharpness (phase/pit ch), and e nsures that a clear picture a ppears on the scree n.

22 T rouble symptoms and remedi es If a problem occurs as a result of a connected computer or ot her equipment, refer to the conne cted computer/equipment’s instruc tion manual. Use the self-diagnosis function (page 24) if the fo llowing recommendations do not resolve the problem.
