12 US CD layer Playing Discs This chapter explains the various ways to play discs. Compatible Disc T ypes Y ou can play the following discs with this player . Depending on the type of disc to be played, select the appr opriate indicator by pressing SACD/CD or MUL TI/ 2CH (pages 14).
Playing Discs 13 US Super Audio CD + CD (Hybrid disc) This disc consists of an HD layer and a CD layer . Pr ess SACD/CD to select the layer you want to listen to. Also, as the dual layers ar e on one side, it is not necessary to turn the disc over . Y ou can play the CD layer using a conventional CD player .

The player shuffles all the tracks on all discs or one disc you ’ ve specified. Shuffle Play on all discs Y ou can play all tracks on all discs in a random order .

Playing Discs 26 US Listening to a Multi-channel Super Audio CD Adjusting the output level balance of each speaker Y ou can adjust following items with the Multi-channel management function: CNTR B AL.

28 US What Y ou Can Do With the Disc Name The player can store the information called “ Disc Name, ” up to 255 discs (for the Hybrid disc, each layer is correspond to the Disc Name). Once you have stor ed the Disc Name for a disc, the player automatically recalls what you have stored whenever you select that disc.
29 US Storing Information About CDs Labeling Discs (Disc Name) Y ou can label discs using up to 14 characters and have the player display the Disc Name each time you select the disc. The Disc Name can be anything you like, such as a title, musician ’ s name, category or date of purchase.
