Owner’s Record The model number is located at the bottom and the serial number is located in the battery compartment. Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to these numbers whenever you call upon your Aiwa dealer regarding this product.
2 ENGLISH IMPOR T ANT SAFETY Read the Operating Instructions carefully and completely before operating the unit. Be sure to keep the Operating Instructions for future reference. All warnings and cautions in the Operating Instructions and on the unit should be strictly followed, as well as the safety suggestions below.
ENGLISH 3 Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of any kind into this unit through the cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the unit.
Power supply Using on AC house current Connect the AC cord as illustrated below. CAUTION Use only the supplied AC cord. Use with other cords may result in the risk of fire. Using on batteries Open the lid of the battery compartment on the rear and insert eight R14 (size C) batteries, not supplied, with the 0 and 9 marks correctly aligned.
ENGLISH 5 Use Type I (normal) tapes only. INSERTING A TAPE Press Z STOP/EJECT to open the cassette holder and insert a tape with the exposed side up and the side to be played facing out. Push the cassette holder to close. PLAYING A TAPE Press x PLAY while the power is off.
6 ENGLISH 1 Select RADIO with FUNCTION. The power is turned on. 2 Press s repeatedly to select the desired band. FM AM The previously tuned station is received. 3 Press r , t to select a station. During FM stereo reception, is displayed. After listening, select TAPE/ 6 STANDBY with FUNCTION to turn the power off.
ENGLISH 7 PRESETTING STATIONS You can preset up to 15 stations in each band. 1 Select a station. 2 Press PROGRAM once so that “M” is displayed to store the station. A station is assigned a preset number, beginning from 1 in consecutive order for each band.
8 ENGLISH 1 Select CD with FUNCTION. The power is turned on. 2 Press PUSH OPEN to open the disc compartment. Place a disc with the printed side up and close the disc compartment. PUSH OPEN Total number of tracks and total playing time are displayed. 3 Press e to start play.
ENGLISH 9 PROGRAMMED PLAY Up to 16 tracks can be programmed from the disc. 1 In stop mode, press PROGRAM. 2 Press r , t to select a track, then press PROGRAM to store it. 3 Repeat step 2 to program other tracks. 4 Press s to finish the program. 5 Press e to start play.
