Getting Started 4 EN CD player Amplifier Unpacking Check that you received the following items: • Audio connecting cord (1) • Remote commander (remote) (CDP-M305 only) (1) • Sony SUM-3 (NS) batteries (CDP-M305 only) (2) Inserting batteries into the remote (CDP-M305 only) You can control the player using the supplied remote.
5 EN Getting Started Setting the voltage selector (except for European models) Check that the voltage selector on the rear panel of the player is set to the local power line voltage. If not, set the selector to the correct position using a screwdriver before connecting the mains lead to a wall outlet.
Basic Operations 6 EN Turn on the amplifier and select the CD player position so that you can listen to the sound from this player. Press POWER to turn on the player. Press § OPEN/CLOSE, and place a disc on the disc tray. Press · ( ( ). The disc tray closes and the player plays all the tracks once (Continuous Play).
7 EN Playing time and number of the current track Press Remaining time on the current track If the track number exceeds 68, “ –– . –– ” appears instead of the remaining time. Press Remaining time on the disc If the remaining time exceeds 100 minutes in programme mode, “ –– .
8 EN To locate The next or succeeding tracks The current or preceding tracks A specific track directly (CDP-M305 only) A point while monitoring the sound A point quickly by observing the display during pause When you directly locate a track numbered over 10 Press >10 first, then the corresponding number buttons.
9 EN Cr eating Y our Own Progr amme (Progr amme Play) You can arrange the order of the tracks on a disc and create your own programme. The programme can contain up to 24 tracks. 10 EN Playing CDs 3 Press PROGRAM to confirm your selection. The playing order appears in the display for a while. The selected track number in the music calendar stops flashing and lights. 4 Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to programme in the order you want. 5 Press · ( ( ) to start Programme Play.
11 EN Recording From CDs Recording Y our Own Pr ogr amme You can record the programme you ’ ve created on a tape. The programme can contain up to 24 tracks. By inserting a pause during programming, you can divide the programme into two for recording on both sides of a tape.
12 EN Recording From CDs Adjusting the Recording Level (P eak Sear ch) The player locates the highest level among the tracks to be recorded to let you adjust the recording level before you start recording. 1 Before you start playing, press PEAK SEARCH.
13 EN Additional Information Notes on CDs On handling CDs • To keep the disc clean, handle the disc by its edge. Do not touch the surface. • Do not stick paper or tape on the disc.

13 F Remar ques sur les disques compacts Manipulation des disques compacts • Pour que les disques restent propres, saisissez-les par le bord sans en toucher la surface. • Ne collez pas de papier ni de ruban adh é sif sur les disques. / Nettoyez le disque (voir page 13).

Si inserta una pausa durante la programaci ó n, puede dividir el programa en dos para grabarlo en ambas caras de una cinta.
