Welcome to Ayre Please send in your warranty registration card so we can stay in contact with you. Your Ayre CX-7 offers a significant advance in the musical performance of high-fidelity equipment. The warmth and immediacy of a live performance are apparent from the first listening.
Connections and Installation The Ayre CX-7 is easy to hook up and use. The following guidelines will ensure that the installation goes smoothly. Location The infrared beam of the remote control will also travel through glass. A good location for your CD player is at an easily accessible height in an open-backed cabinet or on a shelf.
Digital Filter Normally the selector switch is set to the “Listen” position when listening to music. However in some situations, the “Measure” position may provide better overall sound quality. The digital filter of the Ayre CX-7 features two user-selectable algorithms.
AC Power Connect the Ayre CX-7 to an unswitched power source. The best sound quality is normally achieved when the CX-7 is plugged directly into the wall outlet, without using any power strips or power line conditioners.
Controls and Operation The Ayre CX-7 CD player may be controlled using either the front panel buttons or the included remote control. Most functions are available at both locations, but a few functions are available only at one location or the other.
Open/Close The open/close function is only available on the front panel. The “Open/Close” button opens and closes the CD drawer. An open drawer may also be closed with the “Play” button. If desired, pressing the “Stop” button will also stop a spinning disc.
Previous Pressing the “Previous” button will back up to the start of the current track. Additional presses will move to previous tracks. Holding the “Previous” button will rapidly back through tracks. Next Pressing the “Next” button will move to the start of the next track.
Display When the display is off, pressing any key will wake up the display for a few seconds. If the disc is playing, pressing “Play” will wake the display without affecting playback. The display of the Ayre CX-7 has a time section, a track section, and a status indicator section.
The upper section of the remote control supplied with the Ayre CX-7 may be used to control an Ayre integrated amplifier or preamplifier. The lower section of the remote control is used to control the CD player functions. Break-In 100 to 500 hours of music played through the system will ensure full break-in.

Statement of Warranty Please take a moment to fill out and return the enclosed warranty registration card. Your Ayre CX-7 CD player is warranted against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of five years from the date of purchase, except for the transport mechanism.
