H o w W e l l Do e s S ol ar H ea ti ng W o r k ? A properly sized and installed system will raise pool temperatures 10-15 0 during the season. When it’s cloudy or rainy, solar won’t work as well (and you probably won’t be swimming during those times), but your water will be back up to temperature after one or two warm days.
O P T I O N A L R A C K M O U N T I N G I N F O R M A T I O N Some poolowners prefer to construct a rack for mounting their collectors on the ground. If the collector is to be mounted on a rack, please refer to the drawing below for a suggested design and a bill of materials.
B A S I C C O L L E C T O R M O U N T I N G L A Y O U T • Slots are provided in each solar collector for mounting with brackets as shown. • Mount collectors with slots along the top of each collector so it is hanging from the bracket. • Collector should slope slightly toward feed line (about 2”) for draining and winterization.
T ools: • Silicone Sealant, (GE II or equivalent) • Screwdriver or 5/16” nutdriver • Ratchet or speed wrench to drive lag screws Remove the collector from the box and allow the material to relax in the sun (30 minutes to an hour). Do not lay the collector on the grass - it can burn the lawn underneath.
S E C U R E T H E C O L L E C T O R S W I T H S T R A P S P R O V I D E D Cut the strap provided into the proper lengths to span the collectors vertically.
P L U M B I N G O V E R V I E W After making your connections to the collectors, run your pipe back to the area of the pool pump and filter . There are two ways to divert your pool water to your solar system. Choose the one that you want and remember that you can add automatic controls later if you wish.

A p e r ç u d e l a p l o m b e r i e Après avoir raccordé les collecteurs, aménagez un tuyau jusqu'à l'emplacement du filtre et de la pompe de votre piscine. Il y a deux systèmes de détournement de l'eau de la piscine au collecteur solaire : manuelle et automatique.
I n s t a l l a t i o n d e b a s e d u c o l l e c t e u r s o l a i r e • Les fentes sont prévues dans chaque collecteur solaire pour montage sur supports métalliques, tel qu'illustré. • Montez les collecteurs avec les fentes en haut, de façon à ce qu'ils sont suspendus sur les supports.
