ALARM If the water returning from the filter is positioned at 6 oícloc k and the flow is countercloc k- wise, the best location to put the alarm is between 8 oícloc k to 9 oícloc k position. On the other hand, if the flow is clockwise , the alar m should be placed between 3 oícloc k to 4 oícloc k position.
Installation 1. T ak e to p seat cap of pool off and remov e t h e screws holding one end of the top seat 2. Lift up one en d of the top s e at of pool 3. Hang the sensor tube onto the guide rail. Ba c k of the sensor unit should rest against the inside of pool wall.
Sensitivity Adjust Loosen the two scre ws on the bottom of the sensor . Mov e t h e plastic piece with the pointer pointed to ìHî i f you want higher sensitivity or to ìL î if you want low er sensitivity .
Using t h e base as a template, drill 3 holes of 1/8" diameter on the top seat. Mount the unit onto the top seat as shown (right). Battery Installation The pool side alarm is designed to be powered by a standard 9V alkaline batter y . After installing batter y , pr ess the TEST b utton located at the front on the control unit.
T urn the unit ON Press the green ON button and the unit will sound one shor t beep to indicate it is on. The alar m siren will sound when the sensor picks up any water wave motion. Therefore you should wait a few minutes for the water wave to settle down before turning on the unit.
Alarm unit function test Fill a 5 Gal pail 1/3 full with water and drop the pail from a height of a fe w inches from the surface of w ater . The wa ve created should activ ate the alar m. I f t h is test is unsucessful, adjust the sensitivity (ref er to Sensitivity Adjust section).
RF (radio frequency) signal link testing This unit provides a con venient RF link test, to ensure good RF transmission without setting off the alar m. Hit the T E ST button and hold f or a couple of seconds. The unit will sound one beep or fiv e consecutive beeps .
T ransmitter Channel A/B select The pool side alar m RF (radio frequency) signal can be transmitted from the transmitter to the receiv er inside the house by t w o diff erent channels (A or B).
Remote receiver Place the remote receiv er inside your house b ut close to the pool side alarm unit and a t a s traight line of sight. D O N O T place the unit near large metal objects or large motors , such as a r efr iger ator , or w ashing machine .
Back up po wer The receiver unit is designed to use a regular alkaline 9V batter y as bac k up power source. T o in stall this back up batter y , r e move t h e 4 screws and open the ba ttery door .

Connection Receiver Circuit Board The ter minal b lock signal s witching is controlled by m i croprocessor . For current switching, it is recommended to connect a K-1 type rela y (not included) to the ter minal b lock as sho wn.
T rouble Shooting Q . The alarm unit gives frequent false alarms Check the sensitivity setting. The sensitivity may be set too high. The sensor can detect any water disturbance including the flow from the filter pump . Pl ace the alar m unit aw a y fr om the retur n, or put a deflector cap on the sensor cage .
Q . The receiver cannot receive RF alarm signal. When the blue RESET b utton on the front is pressed, the unit is disab led for 10 seconds . Du ring this 10 seconds, it will not receiv e any RF signal. This allows y ou enough time to go to the poolside to turn off or reset the poolside alar m.
