8 First steps Connecting the handset Establishing a connection betw een the phone and the router Y ou must first connect your phone to the Int ernet bef ore you can mak e V oIP calls over the Internet. For Interne t access you need a r outer connect ed to the Internet via a modem (this may be integrat ed in the router).
