1- 2 Applications The SpeedSt ream 2602 by S iemens p rovides many advanced f eatures a nd func tionali ty: • LAN Acces s – The Speed Stream 2 602 provides c onnectivi ty to 10/100 M bps devices, making it e asy to create a netwo rk in sma ll offices or homes.

3- 1 C HAPTER 3 C ONFI GURI NG THE S PEED S TREAM 2602 Before y ou can config ure t he S peedStr eam 2602 DSL/Cable Router , th e TCP/IP proto col must be i nstal led on all c omputers on your net work. If yo u need to i nstall TCP/ IP , refer to Cha pter 4 , “Instal ling and Conf iguri ng T C P/IP .

3- 7 Enable Firewall Protec tion From the Adva nced Se tup | Fir ewall scr een, you can enable the SpeedSt ream 2602 fi rewall t o block common hacker attacks , incl uding IP Spoo fing, Land At tack, P ing of Deat h, IP with ze ro le ngth, Smurf Attack, UDP p ort loopba ck, Snork Att ack, TCP null scan, and TCP SYN floodi ng.
