2 Defining a GS1 DataBar ™ (RSS) Symbology The GS1 Data Bar is a family of linear symbologi es. Depe nding on the bar code data entered, the bar cod e may appear as a 2D bar code stacke d on top of the lin ear bar code. 7 Defining the RFID Setup Pa cket for HF (9855 only) Use the RFID se tup packet (X ) to set the protocol, write attempt s and attenuat ion. Note: Refer to the HF Setup Guide and Supply Ch art for the pr otoco l and attenua tion settin gs based on your RF ID supplies .
8 Using Internat ional Font s Version 6.0 or grea ter (985 5/9860) an d version 3.0 or greater (9825 ) have a new font rasteriz er, which allows for an addition al symbol s et (110 – Unicode UT F-8). To use th is symbol set, you mus t download an Internatio nal TrueType fon t.
9 The print er autom atically tr anslates some ch aracter mappings to ot hers. For example, if y ou need a BIG5 fo nt, it is possible t o use U nicode text data. Use Unicode in th e symbol set paramete r to indicate the te xt mapping and select the BIG5 font need ed in th e font parame ter (T8 or C5).

11 Setting the Numeric Format Use the new menu ite m in the Setup, De faults menu to select how num eric values appear in your printed data . With symbol set 110 (Unico de UTF-8), data se nt to th e printer can be in m ixed format (Latin and Ara bic characte rs).
12 To change th e setting, from the Mai n Menu, select Setup, then Default s. Then, follo w these steps. 1. Press » or ¼ until you see DEFA ULT S » Numeric Format ¼ 2. Press Enter/Pause . The current set ting is displa yed, for example: NUMERIC FORMAT Default ¼ 3.
