7 Desk/T able Installa tion For desk or table i nstallati on, use th e 7-foot strai ght line c ord that came with your tel ephone to connect t he telepho ne to a m odular jac k. W ARNIN G: Do not pl ug the hand set cord into the l ine jack o n the bottom of your tele phone since it could damage y our handset and the telephone .
8 Using the Features Answering and Placing a Call T o answ er a call 1 Lift the ha ndset. 2 Speak wi th the other p arty . T o place a call 1 Lift the ha ndset or pr ess the ON HOOK DIAL b utton. • When you press the ON HOOK DI AL button, t he light next to the button goe s on.
9 The Memory-Dialing Feature Y ou ma y store any c ombinatio n of numeric ent ries, incl uding a pause, a *, and a #, in T one mo de. Use the following procedure s. T o store a number on any of the thre e Memory-Dialing buttons 1 Lift the ha ndset or pr ess the ON HOOK DIAL b utton.
