4 English BEFORE USE 1 INTRODUCTION OTHER OPERATION Cleaning the disk z When there are fingerprints or dust on th e recording (playback) side of the disk, it may not record properl y. Also, image and/or sound qualit y of playback data may deteriorate.
English 5 2 NAMES AND FUNCTIONS OF PARTS Front panel 1. POWER indicator Lights up when the power is on. 2. Microprocessor reset button Resets the microprocessor. 3. Disk tray Inserts CD-R/RWs or DVD+R/+RWs. 4. Access lamp Lights up when the disk is accessed.
6 English INTRODUCTION OTHER OPERATION 1 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION TO DVR Use the follo wing procedures to a ttach the externa l disc unit to the DVR. Docking the unit wi th the DVR is useful. z The external disc uni t and the DVR must be off before commencing the fol lowing procedures.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION TO DVR 1 English 7 5 Place the DVR on the external disc unit. (1) Insert the three legs of the DVR into t he corresponding holes in the top of the exte rnal disk uni t. The fitting should be positioned on the outside of t he right side of the DVR.
8 English INTRODUCTION OTHER OPERATION 2 FORMATTING DISKS Use the fol lowing procedures to format CD-RWs and DVD+RWs. 1 Set the CD-RW or DVD+RW in the disk tray. 2 When the still image on the full screen of the playback is displayed, press the [COPY] button.
