AS-1412 Installation Guide P. 3 Before You Get Started … Ƈ On vehicles with a manual Transmission, always ensure that all Doors will get the Unit out of Ready Mode. Switch the wir e used so that it is triggered by all Doors. Ƈ Make sure that the Parking Brake and Door Switch contacts work properly.
P. 4 Installation Guide AS-1412 Harness Description When connecting the Module, it is important to make sure that th e connector with the Ground w ire is connected first, before making the 12-volt con nections. Should the Unit be powere d up before being grounded, there could be seri ous damage to internal components of the Un it.
AS-1412 Installation Guide P. 5 5-Pin Secondary Harness Wire Description 1 BLACK (–) Chassis ground input This wire must be connected to bare, un painted metal (the Chassis or true Body ground). It is prefer able to use a factory groun d bolt rather than a s elf- tapping screw.

The Programming Assistance Button (a.k.a. PAB.) The PAB is located on the side of the M odule. This push button mi mics the Hood-Pin switch in order to avoid having to get ou t of the vehicle and pr essing the Hood-Pin switch. The PAB will work only when the Hood is up.

AS-1412 Installation Guide P. 11 Auto Tach Programming Procedure NOTE: If no tach has bee n programmed and the ,, button is pressed, there will be no start attempt and t he vehicle will give 5 flash es. If another Tach Progra mming is required, simply repeat the Auto Tach Programming Proc edures.
3. Test the Brake shutdown circuit : With the ve hicle running und er the Remote St arter, press and releas e the Brake Pedal. The Engine sh ould shut down i mmediately. If th e Engine continues to run, check the Brake Switch con nection. 4. OEM Alarm Control: Make sure the Module is able to arm and disarm the OEM Alarm (if applicable).
AS-1412 Installation Guide P. 13 Caution: The relay output rating on this Unit is 25 A at mo st. Defective OEM solenoid switches can sometimes draw up to 50 or 60 A, causing the 30 A fu se to blow. Always check your circuit with a proper measuring device.
