7 Getting star ted Use this device t o play multimedia files on large scr eens that suppor t the H igh Definition Multimedia Inter face (HDMI). Y ou can also save and share files with family members via the Home cloud storage .

Getting star ted 14 Resetting the device If your device is fro zen or unresponsive , press and hold the P ower butt on for mor e than 8 seconds. Resetting may disconnect the device from y our smar tphone. Connect the device to your smartphone again via the NFC feature or the Bluet ooth featur e.

Basics 23 T ransf erring files Once HomeSync is activated , photos and videos taken with register ed devices (such as smar tphones and cameras) are uploaded t o the device automatically . Y ou can also connect a USB storage device t o transfer media files.
Basics 24 4 Remove the micr oUSB cable from the device. • Do not remov e the microUSB cable from the device while transf err ing files. Doing so may r esult in the loss of data or damage to your devic e. • Do not disconnect the device from a computer while the c omputer is playing a file stored on y our device.
Basics 25 Setting a private st orage The device pr ovides shared, personal , and private stor age. An administr ator or each guest can creat e a secure sector by setting a passw ord f or one ’ s private storage . T o set a passwor d for the privat e storage, tap HomeSync → Private on your smartphone.
Basics 26 C onnec ting to a W i-F i network Connect the device to a W i-Fi network to use the Internet or shar e media files with other devices. T urning Wi-F i on and off On the Applications screen, select Settings → Wi - Fi , and then drag the Wi - Fi switch to the right.
