TV55 Owner’ s Manual Indoor/Outdoor Amplified TV Antenna.
1 Saf ety Pr ecautions W arning! Use extr eme c aution when installing or r emo ving an outdoor antenna that is l ocated cl ose to ov erhead wir es such as power lines, tel ephone lines or cabl e TV lines.
2 Pl ease r ead and foll ow these important safety pr ecautions: • Be sur e to select an antenna sit e well away fr om all overhead wir es. • Do not try to gues s which overhead wir es carry high volt age.
3 About Y our New TERK TV55 Antenna Y our TERK TV55 antenna is designed f or both single and multi- famil y homes. It’ s specificall y engineer ed to pro vide superior r eception of high-definition (HDTV), digit al tel evision (D TV) and VHF/UHF TV channels in most viewing l ocations.

5 Positioning the TV55 The TV55 MUST be mounted horizontall y (See Fig 1.) ; with the fr ont of the TV55 facing the general dir ection of the TV station’ s br oadcasting transmitter s. See Fig 2. The higher the el evation of the antenna, the better the r eception perf ormance will be.

7 Mounting the TV55 Antenna Mounting Options: The TV55 can be mounted in many ways both indoor s (such as on a wall or in an attic) and outdoors (such as on a mast, on a wall, or either under a window or a r oof ’ s eave). Decide wher e you will mount the TV55 and foll ow the appropriat e dir ections.
8 3. Use the #10 scr ews and plastic anchors to secur e each of the W all-Mount Cam-lock units into the wall at the marks made in Step #2. (As an alternativ e mounting method, you may choose to use l onger scr ews dir ectl y attached into wood supports, wall studs, or use a diff er ent wall-anchoring devic e.
9 Mounting the TV55 Antenna (continued) Outdoors using Window Mounting: 1. Locate: (1) Channel Insert (2) 3/4" bolts (2) Hex-head nuts (2) Split washers (2) Window Mount Brack ets Plastic anchors and scr ews (depending on the material being mounted t o) 2.
10 3. Insert a he x-head bolt into each of the Channel Inserts. Insur e that the bolt head fits into the he xagon r eces s on the insert. 4. Slide the Channel Inserts into the channel on the back of the TV55 - the bolts should be pointing away fr om the antenna.
11 Mounting the TV55 Antenna (continued) 7. Determine the l ocation on the window wher e the TV55 will be mounted. 8. Attach the Window F rame Brack ets to the window . Be sur e the brack ets ar e lev el and line up with the channel inserts alr eady on the antenna.
12 Outdoors using Mast Mounting: 1. Locate: (1) Channel Insert (1) Mast Mount Base and Cov er (1) 1 1/2" hex-head bolt (1) 2 1/2" hex-head bolt (1) Hex nut (1) Wing nut 2. Insert both he x-head bolts into the Channel Insert at the hex-head r eces s.
13 Mounting the TV55 Antenna (continued) 4. Determine mas t size. The supplied Mast Brack et will fit a 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" mast. If the mast being used is 1 1/2" in diameter, the tabs on the Mas t Brack et Cover needs to r emoved using a pair of pliers.
14 Connecting the TV55 to a TV 1. Run the RG6 c oaxial cabl e fr om the antenna towar ds your tel evision set and connect the RG6 coaxial c abl e to the supplied Power Injector on the t erminal labeled “T O ANTENNA ”. 2. Connect the “T O TV” l ead on the power injector to the “ ANT IN” on your TV .
15 Running Cabl e Under a Window: 1. Connect one end of the supplied RG6 c oaxial cabl e to the “F”- connect or output on the end of the TV55 and connect the other end to the 9 3/4" white flat c able.
16 W ater Damage Pr evention: At the point wher e your coaxial cabl e lead ent ers the house, you should allow f or some slack in the coaxial cabl e as a “drip loop.” This will pr event moistur e fr om running down the coaxial cabl e and entering the house.
17 F or Use With a Satellite Dish TV55 Installation Pr ocedur e for use with a Satellit e Dish If you have a sat ellite dish it is possibl e to install the TV55 using the same wiring as the satellite dish. T o do this y ou will need to pur chase a set of diple xers (T erk model BDS-P1).
18 T r oubl e Shooting Q. I am not getting any channels above channel 13. A. Most TV’ s today ar e cable r eady . When a cable r eady TV is in the CABLE or CA TV mode and you try to use an ant enna with it, you will not r eceive any channels abov e 13.
