What i s XPe Client? A n Microsoft Windows XP Embedde d(XPe) client us es the Micros oft Window s XP Embed ded operating system. Wh en an XPe client is co nnected to a C itrix ICA serve r or another s.
Window s XP Em bedded Deskto p Use r When a user l ogs in, the U ser Desktop a ppears, as sho wn in the figu re below. The de fault ico ns that appear on the U ser Desktop a re Citrix Pro gram Neighborh ood, Remote D esktop Con nection and Internet Explo rer.
Pro g rams - XPe Client i s a client/se rver- based computi ng platform. On t his platfo rm, the client ac cesses the server each time it needs a program and it only recei ves the user in terface screens from the server.

Start a Remo te Desktop Session on the C lient Once you hav e enabled your host computer to all ow remote connections and installed the clien t software on a W indows -based client c omputer, you are ready to start a R emote Desk top session.
- Display: The Remote Des ktop Co nnection sen ds and receive s compres sed screen da ta. If you set the resolution a nd color qu ality to the hi gh option, the s peed may beco me slow. - Local Resou rce: Specify whether to us e the hard disk s and ports.
- Programs: Speci fy whether to d isplay the D esktop or ru n an applicat ion wheneve r you are connecte d. The defau lt is ‘Des ktop’. - Experience: You can se lect your conn ection speed, and sele ct and share env ironmental options.
4. Click Con nect. The L og On to Win dows dialo g box appears. 5. In the “Log On to W indows ” dialog box, ty pe your username , password, a nd domain (if requ ired), and then click O K. The Remo te Desk top window will open a nd you will see the de sktop se ttings, files, and programs tha t are on the host c omputer.
Internet Explorer A XPe Client i ncludes Interne t Explorer. This program is permi tted for all users . For more informatio n on Internet Exp lorer, visit the Micros oft webs ite . Monitor Driver When prompted by the ope rating system for the monitor driv er, insert th e CD-RO M included w ith this monitor. Driver in stallation is sl ightly differen t from one op erating system to another. Fo llow the directions app ropriate for the operating sys tem you have.
