4 www.safescan.com 1.2 W ALLM OU NT I N ST ALLA TI O N 1. Connect the power adapter and Ethernet (LAN) cable* to the terminal. Do not connect the power adapter yet to the mains. 2. Drill 4 holes (Ø 6mm) in the wall on the exact position where you want to install the T A terminal.

6 www.safescan.com Menu navigation on the device: Navigation between the menu items of the device is done using the arrow keys (left, right, up, and down).
7 www.safescan.com If you see a message such as ‘ Reply from 10.0.2.22 by tes = 32 time < 1ms TTL = 64’ , it means that the I P address you selected is not available. T ry again with another I P address. If the I P address you selected is available you will see the mess age ‘ Destination host unreachable ’.
8 www.safescan.com 1.7 WI FI C ON N ECTI ON 1.8 DH C P: PRO S AN D C O N S Using DH CP will enable you to connect your terminal to the network without having to find a free I P address, thereby simplifying the connection process. The DHC P server will automatically assign a free I P address to the terminal.
9 www.safescan.com Select the verification mode you want to use. W e strongly advise, at least for the Super admin, to enable login with different verification modes. For example you can register a fingerprint and a password, or an R F I D card and a password.

This validity can be set to a certain date and/or a given number of clocking actions.
16 www.safescan.com 2. 6 USIN G W ORK CODES Y ou can adapt the terminal to the cloc king needs of your business. If you want to track more than just the clocking in and cloc king out time of your employees, you can have your employees clock in with work codes to trac k the amount of time spent on a specific project, event or t ask.

18 www.safescan.com 2.6.4 CLOCK I N G WITH A WO R K C O DE Make sure that the terminal is set to the desired In/Out status. Press the W ork Code button (the default button is F5). Select a work code from the list and press . After this the user needs to identify himself with fingerprint, R F I D badge or pin code.
19 www.safescan.com 2.7 .2 DA YLI G HT SA VI N G TI M E: WE E K/DA Y SET TI N G In some regions there is a fixed rule for when daylight saving time st arts and ends. For example, in Europe, Daylight Saving Time always st arts on the last Sunday of March at 02:00 AM and ends on the last Sunday of October at 02:00 AM (Central European T ime).
20 www.safescan.com Select ‘End Month’ , press . Select the month when daylight saving time ends. In our example we need to select 10 for October . Confirm your selection by pressing . Select ‘End Time’ , press . Enter the time when daylight saving time ends (02:00 in our example).
21 www.safescan.com 2.8 CU STO M US E R R O LE S There are two standard user roles in the terminal: Normal User and Super Administrator . It is also possible to define custom roles. T hese custom roles (“User Defined Roles”) allow to grant access to certain functions of the terminal.
22 www.safescan.com 2.9 SH O RT M E SSAG E SE RVI CE The terminal can be used for internal communications purposes. Y ou can create short mess ages that will be displayed for one or more specific users, or everyone in the company . The message will appear on the screen when the user identifies themselves to the terminal.
23 www.safescan.com 2.1 0 CU STO M I S E TH E FU NCTI ON K EYS The terminal has 8 user definable function keys. Y ou can link these keys to different actions. If your employees regularly perform a specific action that you want to keep track of, you can link this action to one of the function keys.

For more information, please refer to the Safescan T A Software manual. 2.12 M E N U SH O RTCUTS Since values 0 ~4 are already pre-defined in the Safescan T A Software, please enter a value between 5 and 250.
25 www.safescan.com 2.13 ACCE SS C ONTR O L The Safescan T A-8015 / 8 025 / 8 035 models are equipped with basic access control capabilities. Y ou can link your terminal to an electric loc k, a door sensor , an alarm and a door opening switch. Employees can open a door linked to the device by punching (cloc king).
26 www.safescan.com 2.13.3 CR EA TE AN ACCE SS G ROU P PLEAS E NOTE: Each time a group is added, this group should be referenced in the combined verification list. If it is not, users belonging to this group will not be able to use door access, i.e. open the door .
27 www.safescan.com 2.14 HO LI DA YS Y ou can define several holiday periods and link them with a specific time sc hedule If you select ‘ All Holidays’ , the terminal will display the list of all previously created holidays. Select one line, and press .
28 www.safescan.com 2.1 6 DU R E SS OPTI O NS It is possible to select one or several verification (identification) modes that will trigger an alarm. It is also possible to set the time between the moment the user clocks in or out and the moment the alarm starts.

Set the number of seconds the loc k st ays unlocked after opening. 1.2. Door Sensor Delay (s) . Set the number of seconds the door can stay open before triggering the alarm.
33 www.safescan.com 2. Public Messages - Displays a list of all public messages stored in the terminal. These messages can be viewed, edited, or deleted. 3. Personal Messages - Displays a list of all personal messages stored in the terminal. These messages can be viewed, edited, or deleted.
