3 CHA PTER 1 – INT RODU CTION Thank you for purchas ing this PDA. Please read t his manual c arefully to becom e fam iliarized with your PDA’s many feat ures and to ens ure years of rel iable operation. 5 Using Rechargeable Batteries Your Royal PDA unit without bui lt-in modem can only use the Royal rechargeable bat tery pack that is sold separately. This battery pack is a sealed, self-contained cartridge. This cartridge repl aces the AAA alkaline cartri dge which is factory-instal led in your P DA.
6 Carefully tap the dot at the tip of each arrow located in the top left and bottom right corner without touching any ot her part of t he screen. 3. Following the calibration sc reen, the language selec tion screen will be displayed. 4. Select the desired l anguage and touch OK.
7 2. Use t he up/down touch arrows on the scroll bar to sc roll through the country and cit y list. Tap the City t ab on the upper right to sort world cities al phabetically. Tap the Country tab on t he upper left t o sort t he Countries alphabet icall y.
8 CHA PTER 3 – GETTING TO KNOW YOUR P DA PA RT NA M ES A ND FUNCTIONS A PPLI CATION BA R TOUCH M ENU The PDA has a variety of built-in applicati ons that can be instantly selected by using the stylus to tap the applic ation ic on on the touc h menu at the top of t he screen.
9 A PPLICA TION TOOL BA R ICONS This bar is displayed just below the Application icon bar. The se control touch keys can be shown in each applic ation: A pp This f ar left symbol specifies which applicati on is currently active. Tap it to turn the backlit on/off f or low light or night viewing.
10 List View Mode Whenever an application icon is tapped the records index list w ill be shown. The index shows each record in list format. The exception to this is the Calendar f unction w hen it is displayed in a month view.
11 CHA PTER 4 – T OOLS M ENU When in the List View mode for Phone, ToDo, Planner, Notes or th e Annivers ary applications, tap this opt ion for the Tools menu.
12 FINDING RE CORDS There are several ways to f ind records i n the applic ations. They are as foll ows: • Press the Up/Do wn arrows on t he scroll bar to scrol l through a long li st. • Press the Up/Down double arrows to s croll eac h page of the li st at a t ime.
13 CHA PTER 5 - ON-SCREE N KEYBOARD DA TA E NTRY You can use the virtual on-screen keyboard, natural handwriting input or the optional PDA external folding keyboard f or data entry. For more information about data entry using the external folding keyboard – see A ppendix.
14 W hen you fini sh a charac ter the unit recognizes t he charact er and the charac ter is di splayed at t he inserti on point of t he screen. Y ou can then begin t he writing strok e for the next charac ter.
15 CHA PTER 6 – PHONE BOOK Tap this i con to act ivate the P hone List. The Phone List shows the lis t of las t nam es and home phone num bers, s orted alphabet ically ac cording to t he last nam e st ored in the record’s nam e fi eld. To view the Phone List sorted by company name, tap ‘ Name’ at the t o p lef t o f th e di sp l ay l is t.
16 CHA PTER 7 - PLANNER Tap this icon to select the Planner mode. Planner has four functions: Calendar, Schedul e, Anniversary and ToDo. CA LENDA R FUNCTION The Calendar function is used to view 2 months of Schedules, Anniversary and ToDo activiti es.
17 SCHEDULE F UNCTI ON Schedule shows a list of appointments, ToDo’s and anniversary for that date. Tap a de sired date in the calendar t o go to that date’s li st view. Tap in the S chedule Lis t view to go back to calendar. In the Schedule List view, t ap the event to see the details for that event.
18 CHA PTER 8 - TODO LIST Tap this icon to activate and view the ToDo list. This appl ication allows you to keep track of importa nt tasks. To switch f rom the ToDo l ist vi ew to details of an individual rec ord: 1. Tap the corres ponding record in the l ist.
19 CHA PTER 9 – EM A IL Tap this i con to act ivate and view the Em ail I nbox List. This applicat ion allows you to k eep track of email that has been rec eived by the PDA . Inbox list em ail det ails R E AD I N G E M AI L Tap on any list ed email t o see its details .
20 USING EMA IL A DDR ESSES STORED IN TH E PHONE BO OK To retrieve Em ail Addres ses f rom t he Phone Book: 1. Tap or Names and email address that are in the addres s book are dis played. 2. Tap the nam e you want to send or copy t he email to. The s creen returns t o the new email screen with the em ail addres s plac ed in the selec ted fi eld.
21 DELETE EMA IL 1. Search for t he desired em ail as explained in S earching For Em ail. 2. Tap the desired em ail t o highlight it . 3. Tap the tool ic on . 4. Select del ete record to delete t he highlighted em ail. 5. Tap Yes to c onfirm delete or to abort.
22 SENDING E MAIL USING AN ISP OTHER THA N ROYALNET Make sure the c onnection i con shows it is connec ted ( ). If it i s not c onnected, us e the st eps CONNCTION TO OTHE R ISP ’s. 1. Tap to l ist em ail boxes. 2. Tap Outbox or Draft box 3. Tap to highlight one select ed email .
23 Note: 1. The unit will stay connect ed until you tap the connec tion icon t o disc onnect it . 2. To put check marks for all li sted em ail tap , then tap t o download all the emai l listed. 3. To put cross marks for all li sted em ail tap , then tap t o delete all em ail li sted.

25 MA TC H G A ME Match sym bols hidden under eac h square in t he fastes t tim e to win1. 1. Select the game level by tapping LEVEL, tap the radio butt on of the level desired, t hen Tap ! . 2. Tap a square to view the hidden symbol , tap a second square that matches the first symbol.
26 SYST EM SETUP System set up defines t he general sett ings of t he PDA; t hese set tings are: • Email Setu p - Configure with RoyalNet or another ISP . • Outside Line Access – Used to dial a number t o acces s an outs ide line. • Screen Contrast – Lighten or dark en the screen.
