2 About the Workshop Booklets Roland’ s SonicCell is designed f or modern musicians. Using USB, It adds a huge set of sounds to your digital audio workstation (or “DA W ”) without adding to your comput er ’ s workload.
3 If the Device popup menu doesn’ t already show “Roland SonicCell 2 [SonicCell’ s current sample rat e], selec t Roland SonicCell [S onicCell’ s current sample rate] from the menu. Click Apply Changes—L ogic Pro configures itself to use SonicCell as 3 its audio interface.
4 T o close the Editor window at any time , click its Close button in the 6 upper left-hand corner . T o re- open it, double -click the I/O slot— which now says “SonicCell”—in the Inspector pane. Naming a T r ack T o make it easier to get to the Edit or , w e recommend naming the track something like “S onicCell Editor .
5 PERFORM— • These parameters allow you to control the way each par t plays its patch, and lets you add effects to the patch. PERFORM P A TCH— • These parameters allow you to dig right inside a part ’ s patch in order to edit it down to its most basic characteristics.
6 Recording Audio from SonicCell in Logic Pro If you haven’t yet read the Using SonicCell as an Audio Interface W orkshop booklet, read it now before proceeding. SonicCell offers lots of audio-interface options you’ll want to know about. Selecting Audio to Record Open the project you want to work on, or create a new one.
