1 Firmware Update Instruction Manual This ma nual de scribes the procedu res for downl oading the G700 firmware from the R icoh website and upd ating th e firmware . Perfor m the fol lowing ope rations to update the fir mware. Flow of procedures " 1.
2 1. Check the version of the firmware Caution Before updati ng, be sure to check the firmware vers ion using the foll owing method. If the install ed firmware is the l atest versi on, there is no nee d to upgrade. For informat ion about firmware, vi sit the Ricoh websit e (http://www.
3 2. Download the firmware file, and get it ready for use 1. Download the firmware to your computer from the Ricoh website 2. Either doubleclick the downloaded file or click [OK] when the dialog box (refer to the below diagra m) • For Windo ws, designate the destination for the extracted file, and click [OK].

Confirm the power to the camera is off, then connect the camera and the computer together using the supplied USB cable • The power to the camera will turn on auto matically.

7 4. Update the firmware 1. With the camera turned off, whil e pressing the ! button ( 1 ), press and hold the 6 (Playback) button ( 2 ) down for 2 to 3 seconds • A message co nfirming the firmware update will appear on the picture display.
8 • If a message sayi ng, [Incorrect rewri ting file] appear s on the picture display and the power to the camera turns off aut omatically, check the model of the camera, and us e the corr ect firmware to update the firmware again.

Check the firmware ver sion] on page 2, and confirm that the version of the firmware has changed. • If the SD memory card continues to be used with the firmware files copied to it, the number of cap tured pictures that c an be tak en will de crease .
