- 3 - Important Information Important Battery Information • Do not mix diff erent types of batteries or new and old batteries. Do not use rechar geable batteries. • In order to avoid any risk of explosion, observe the polarities indicated inside the battery compartment.

- 5 - Things to C onsider before Y ou Connect • Ensure that the mains (AC pow er) supply in your house complies with that indicated on the identifi cation sticker located on the back of your unit. • Install your unit horizontally , away from an y source of heat (fi replace) or appliances cr eating strong magnetic or electric fi elds.
- 6 - Connections and Setup Connecting to your T V Method 1 (best) HDMI • Connect the HDMI OUT jack on the rear of the unit to the HDMI IN jack on your TV using a HDMI cable (not included).
- 7 - Connections and Setup Connecting your pla yer to a wired net- work router (optional) Connect an Ethernet cable (CA T5 or better with RJ45 connector) to the ETHERNET jack on the back of your player and to an Ethernet jack on a network hub or broadband router .
- 8 - Connecting the Speakers Speaker wires are color-coded to match the terminals . Connect the speaker wire from the back of each speaker to the corresponding color terminal at the back of the unit. P ress down the tab to open the terminal and insert the wire.
- 9 - Connections and Setup Note: Center speaker provided with this unit is magnetically shielded to protect your T V set. It is not recommended to place speak- ers without magnetic shield near the T V set. 1. Left, Right (Front Speakers) Fr ont speakers carr y primarily music and sound eff ects.
- 10 - Connections and Setup Overview of Contr ols - Fron t Panel C ontrols Better Surround Placement Location If possible, place surround speakers to either side of the listening area, not behind it. Height If space permits, install surround speakers 2-3 feet abo ve viewers.
- 11 - Overview of Contr ols ON/OFF Press to turn on your unit, or put your unit in standby mode. When your unit is in standby mode, power is still entering your unit. To disconnect power, unplug the power cord. OPEN/CLOSE Press to open or close the disc tray.
- 12 - Overview of Contr ols Note: Insert the t wo “ AAA ” (included with this unit) batteries into the remote control prior t o use. MEM/ANGLE Stores a station in tuner mode. Accesses the camera angle function for Blu-ray or DVD discs if available.
- 13 - Quick Setup When turned on for the fi rst time or after resetting it to the factory default, the Quick Setup menu will pop up as following . Follo w the below steps to make the basic settings for using the Blu-ray player . 1. Press OK to perform Quick Setup.
- 14 - Playing a Blu-ray Disc or DVD Regional Coding This unit has been designed to play back BD-video encoded for region “A” and DVD-video encoded for region “1”. You cannot play back BD-video or DVD- video that are labeled for other regions.
- 15 - Special F unctions Primary video Secondary video Notes • The available options of Audio vary from diff erent disc format. • PiP Subtitle is not available f or all discs. It only applies to Blu-ray discs that supports picture -in- picture features.
- 16 - Playing an audio CD 1. Press ON/OFF button on the remote control or ON/STANDBY button located on the unit’s front panel. 2. Press OPEN/CLOSE butt on to open the disc tray. 3. Place a CD on the disc tray with the label facing up, then press OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray.
- 17 - Watching Movies with Net ix T o use Netfl ix ser vice, connect this player to y our network, and confi gure the network settings if they are not fi nished yet. (See “Network Setting” sec tion on page 24). Launching Net ix movie 1. In home menu, press or button to select Connected .
- 18 - Note Resolution of video streamed from Netfl ix varies depending on communication speed or bitrate of each content, etc. Preparing Instant Queue T o play streaming video via Netfl ix ser vice, Netfl ix service, you must have an appropriat e Netfl ix subscription and the player needs to be reg istered for Netfl ix service.
- 19 - Some BD-ROMs contains BD-Live features that can be downloaded to the external memory (local storage) for enjoyment. In order to access BD-Live functions, the Blu-ray disc player must be properly confi gured for BD- Live internet access , and it must be equipped with additional memory (USB Flash Drive).
- 20 - Radio This unit has a built-in digital-tuning FM radio . Manual tuning 1. Connect the FM antenna at the back of the unit. 2. Press TUNER button.
- 21 - Display Setting 1. In the main menu of Settings , press button, then use or button to select Display . 2. Press button and press or button to select an option, then press OK button. 3. Press or button to select the desired option, and then press OK button to confi rm your selection.
- 22 - Digital Output: • PCM Stereo — Sets the HDMI audio format to PCM Stereo , this is useful if you have an audio receiver connected that is not a 5.1 channel receiver . • Bitstream Legacy — Sends a DTS or Dolby Digital bitstream from the disc ov er the HDMI connections.
- 23 - The Settings Menu Stereo Downmix: Allows you to do wnmix the multi-channel audio into fewer channels . • Stereo (LoRo) — Downmixes the multi-channel audio into two channel stereo . Choose when the Blu-ray disc player is connected to the equipment that does not support vir tual surround function such as Dolby Pro L ogic.
- 24 - 3. Press or button to select Wi re d , then press OK button. The IP Settings screen appears. If the network connection is active, Link Up appears next to Link Status . If the network connection is not active, Link Down displays next to Link Status .
- 25 - The unit does not switch on. • Make sure it is plugged in. • Press ON/OFF button on the remote contr ol or ON/ ST ANDBY button on the front of the unit. The device switches o spontaneously. • T o save pow er , the device switches off aut omati- cally when it is not being used for more than 30 minutes.

- 27 - Precautions Use • If your unit has been stored in a c ool place for any length of time, during a journey for example , wait for about 2 hours befor e using it. • The openings located on the top and bottom are for ven tilation and must not be obstructed.
- 28 - DVD-Video Digital video discs - 12 cm, single or double sided, single or dual layer . DVDs are high density optical discs on which high quality picture and audio are recorded by means of dig ital signals.
