4 PREP ARA TION CONNECTING THE OUTPUTS Connect your am plifier and a cassette recorder to the audio output jacks on the back of the mi xer. 1. Connect t he amplifier ’ s left and right input jacks t o the mixer ’s MAIN OUT output ja cks to play t he mixer ’s sound.
5 Note : Y ou c an set the con trol to any o t her pos i tion (except 0 ). However , to get an accurat e pre- set, all the volume controls m ust set to the exac t same position.
6 2. Set MONI T OR to MIC to select t he remote microphone. Note : The DJ’s microphone in put cannot b e monitored. 3. Set M ONI T OR LEVEL t o approxi- mately halfwa y between m ini- mum and max imum. 4. Adjust the v olum e contr o l of the input source you selected unt i l you hear the s ignal in the head- phones at the desired level.
7 OPE RA T ION BASIC O PE RA T ION You can m ix up to 6 inputs at the same t im e and use the built-in equal- izer and ec ho generator to tailor the sound as desired. 1. Set MASTER to approximat ely 5 . 2. Set the switch above each volume control to s el ect t he input you want to act ivate.
8 USING T HE “DJ’S ” MICROPHON E Normal For equal blending of voice and mu- sic, set NORMAL/ ST ANDBY/T ALKO VE R to NORM AL . In t he NORMA L m ode, the “DJ” MIC input i s m ixed to bl end equal - ly with a ll the mai n volume i nputs ( MIC , PHONO 1 , PHONO 2 , LINE 1 , and LINE 2 ) .
9 USING THE 7 - BAND FREQUENCY EQUALIZER With the s e v en s l iding frequen c y c on- trols, you can tailor t he sound pro- cessed through the m ixer t o fit the acoustic surroundings and your per- sonal taste.
10 TRO UBLESHOOTI NG Your SSM- 1000 M ixer should require very little maintenanc e. If you do have prob- lems, refer to the troubleshooting chart below for possible solutions.
