7 Preparation ˆ Preparation INSTALLING THE BATTERIES Your phone requires th ree AAA batteries (n ot supplied) for po wer. For the best per formance and longest life, we recommend Ra- dioShack alkaline batter ies. Cautions: • Use only fresh batt eries of the required size an d recom- mended type.

11 Caller ID Operation USING T ONE SERVICES ON A PULSE LINE Some special se rvices re quire tone sign als (such as bank-b y- phone). If you have p ulse dialing, you can still use these special tone services by following these steps. 1. Be sure PULSE/TONE is set to PULSE .
12 Caller ID Operation Repeatedly pres s ▲ to scroll through the C aller ID records from the oldest to the ne west, or ▼ to scroll back through the records. When you scroll past the last or first record, END OF LIST ap- pears, then th e first or last record.
13 Caller ID Operation DIALING NUMBERS FROM A CALLER ID RECORD To dial a number stored in a Call- er ID record, recall the record, then press CALL BACK/F LASH . PRESS TALK appear s. If the area code of the rece ived call is the same as the one you st or ed in the phone, th e record does not show the area code.
