2 Read T h is Before In stallation We have design ed your ET-651 to con- form to federal regulations, and you can connect it t o m ost t elepho ne l ines. How- ever, each telepho ne (and each device such as an answering mach ine) that you connect to the telephon e line draws power from the li n e.
3 Plug one en d o f the supp lied two-line telep hone cord i nto the jack on the back of the p hone. Th en pl ug t he cord’ s other end into a modular telephone line jack. If you use two single-line jacks, you must connect the lines with an optional two-line c oupler (such as RadioS hack Cat.
4 2. Press LINE 1 then lift the handset . 3. Dial one of y our phone numbers. If the Line 2 indicat or flashes, the number is connec ted to Line 2. If you h ear a busy s i gnal, the number is con nected t o L ine 1. After you conf irm the phone number f or each line, write the numbers o n the number plate above t he keypad.
5 Note: Pressin g another line button with- out pressing HO LD disconnects the cur- rent call. To rele ase a call f rom hold, press that line’s button . You c an al so rele ase a call from hold by picking up any extens ion phone on that line. Using Redial To qu ickly dial the la st numbe r dialed, press REDL when you hear a dial t one.
