3 PREPARATION Pre-T uning the Antenna Your an tenna is preset to use 27. 205 MHz ( the midd le of t he CB ban d) fo r the lowest SWR. If y ou are u sing your an ten- na wit h a CB rad io, you do no t hav e to pre- tune it . See “Ass embling an d Mount- ing the An tenna” on Page 3.
4 Follow these st eps to assemb le and mount the antenn a. 1. Lay the antenna ’s componen ts on the ground in a fla t, open area. 2. Place the su pp lied 3 / 8 -inch lock w asher ( 2) o ve r th e thre ade d en d of the top element (1).
5 T UNIN G THE ANTENNA If you are u si ng y ou r ant enn a at freq uen - cies i n the range o f 25 to 30 M Hz, you can tune the ante nna using an sta nding- wave ratio (SWR) meter (not suppl ied) and the d ual tu ning ring s on t he bot tom element .
