3 -EN Never Attempt the Following Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit power is of f. Inserting Discs Y our player accepts only one disc at a time for playback.
4 -EN Basic Operation PO WER MODE/BBE/ A udio Control RESET MUTE CLK ANGLE 8 9 Detaching the Fr ont P anel 1 Press and hold the PO WER button f or more than 3 seconds to turn off the power . 2 Press the (Release) button at upper left side until the front panel pops out.
5 -EN Displa y Angle Adjustment Mov able displa y The mov able displa y may be adjusted to 3 different angles depending upon user pref erence. 1 Press the ANGLE 89 button to adjust the angle of the mov able displa y . NOTES • The display will close a half minute after the ignition ke y is turned to the OFF position.
6 -EN Basic Operation SETUP CLK TUNE g DN f UP MODE/Audio Contr ol Dimmer Contr ol Set the DIMMER control to A UTO to decrease the illumination brightness of the unit with the head lights of the vehicle ON. This mode is useful if you feel the unit's bac klighting is too br ight at night.
7 -EN 3 Press the TUNE button to toggle mode between SUB-W ON and SUBW OFF . 4 Press the SETUP button after setting the SUB - W ON. 5 Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the SUB-W mode. Press the g DN or f UP b utton after selecting the SUB-W mode, and the subwoof er output phase is toggled SUBW NOR (0 °) or SUBW REV (180 °).
8 -EN Basic Operation 5 T o adjust the v olume, etc., first press the SOURCE button and select the A UX mode, then make the necessary adjustment. NOTE When using the V ersatile Link T erminal (KCA-410C), you can connect two external inputs. T o select the mode, pr ess the BAND b utton on the unit.

10 -EN Basic Operation f UP g DN B-FWD/DEFEA T DISP/B.OUT Setting Bass Forwar d The Bass F orward function shifts the lo w frequency's energy component to the front. This mov es the high energy , dynamic bass sound to the front sound stage. 1 Press the B-FWD b utton to activate the Bass F orward setting mode .
11 -EN Black out Mode On and Off CD A-7977 only When the Black out mode is tur ned on, the display will turn off to reduce power consumption. This additional power enhances the sound quality . 1 Press and hold the B.OUT button f or at least 3 seconds to star t the blac kout mode .
12 -EN Displa ying the Title/T ext It is possible to displa y the CD/Station title if the title has been pre viously inputted. For details, see Titling Disc/Stations (page 13). T ext inf or mation, such as the disc name and the trac k name, will be display ed if playing a CD te xt compatible disc.
13 -EN Titling Discs/Stations It is possible to title y our f av orite CD's or radio stations. 1 Press the TITLE button and select the title display mode . F or details, see Displa ying the Title/T ext (page 12). 2 Press and hold the TITLE b utton for at least 3 seconds.
14 -EN Radio Operation SOURCE B AND g DN f UP TUNE/A.ME Preset buttons (1 thr ogh 6) A utomatic Seek T uning 1 Press the SOURCE button until a r adio frequency appears in the displa y . 2 Press the BAND button repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa yed.
15 -EN Manual Storing of Station Presets 1 Select the radio band and tune in a desired radio station you wish to store in the preset memory . 2 Press and hold any one of the Preset b uttons (1 through 6) f or at least 2 seconds until the station frequency on the displa y blinks .
16 -EN CD Player Operation SOURCE c - / J Insert a disc with the label side facing up. → TUNER → CD → CD CHANGER ∗ f UP g DN M.I.X. REPEA T SCAN Pla ybac k 1 Press the c button. The mov able display will open. 2 Inser t a disc with the label side f acing up .
17 -EN Music Sensor (Skip) 1 Momentarily press the g DN button once during CD play to return to the beginning of the current trac k. If you wish to access the beginning of a track further back, repeatedly press until you reach the desired tr ack. Press the f UP b utton once to advance to the beginning of the ne xt trac k.
18 -EN Contr olling CD Changer (Optional) An optional 6-disc or 12-disc CD Changer ma y be connected to the CD A-7977/CDA-7876/CD A- 7875/CD A-7873 if it is Ai-NET compatib le.
19 -EN Multi-Changer Selection Alpine's Ai-NET system will suppor t up to 6 CD Changers. When operating two or more changers, the KCA-400C (Multi-Changer Switching de vice) must be used. If you use 1 Switching de vice, you can connect up to 4 CD Changers.
20 -EN XM Radio Operation SOURCE Preset buttons (1 thr ough 6) B AND TUNE f UP g DN SETUP Receiving XM Channels with the XM Receiver (Optional) XM Satellite Radio* is the ne xt generation of audio enter tainment, with up to 100 br and-new digital channels.
21 -EN Storing XM Channel Presets 1 Press the B AND button to select the desired band (XM1 or XM2) you w ant to store. 2 After tuning in the desired channel, press and hold any one of the Preset b uttons (1 thr ough 6) f or at least 2 seconds until the channel number on the displa y blinks .
22 -EN XM Radio Operation CA T f UP g DN TITLE Changing the Displa y T ext inf or mation, such as the channel name , ar tist name/f eature, and song/progr am title, is av ailable with each XM channel. The unit can displa y this text inf or mation as e xplained below .

24 -EN Battery Replacement CD A-7977/CDA-7876/CD A-7875 only Applicable battery: Use two “AAA” sized dr y batteries or equivalent. 1 Opening the battery cover Slide out the battery cover while firmly pressing the direction of arrow . 2 Replacing the battery Put the batteries in the case obser ving the polarities as illustrated.
25 -EN Information CD CD Play er/Changer not functioning. • Out of operating temperature range +50˚C (+120˚F) for CD. - Allo w the vehicle's interior (or trunk) temperature to cool. CD playbac k sound is wavering. • Moisture condensation in the CD Module.
26 -EN Indication for CD Pla yer • Protective circuit is acti vated due to high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. • No CD is inserted. - Insert a CD. • Although a disc is inserted, “T -- --- ” is displayed and the unit does not start to play or eject the disc.
