6 5.0 CALIBRATION 5.1 Introduction The Pr oT ek II series normally d o not require calibr ation before use. How ever, wh enever the product or part to be checked varies greatly f rom the supplied test.
7 Settin g The “Z ERO” Point 3. Af ter pressing th e key , the display w ill flash “ 2 PT CAL” fol low ed by “ 0 0 P LATE” . An au dible “beep” w ill also be heard. Place the probe on th e bare m etal part and press until th e shell contacts the surf ace.
8 6.0 CHANGING UNITS OF MEASURE To change the u nits of m easure from mils to m icrons, and vice versa, press the 0N + key. Each tim e this combination of key s are p ressed the units w ill chang e from on e to the other. The unit of m easure indicat or, located in the u pper right corn er of th e display , w ill also change.
9 Af ter the first m easurement is tak en, a nu mber w ill app ear on t he l eft side o f the d ispl ay alo ng with the thi ckness rea di ng o n the r ight. T he number o n t he l eft indi ca tes the num ber of m easuremen ts that m ust be taken to complete the current series for the CAM average.
