3 13. Never move the walking belt while the power is turned off. Do not operate the treadmill if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the treadmill is not working properly. (See BEFORE YOU BEGIN on page 4 if the tread- mill is not working properly.
4 Thank you for selecting the PROFORM ¨ CROSS- WALK LS treadmill. The CROSSWALK LS treadmill combines advanced technology with innovative design to let you enjoy an excellent form of cardiovascular ex- ercise in the convenience and privacy of your home.
5 1. With the help of a second person, carefully lay the treadmill on its right side as shown (refer to the drawing on page 4 to identify the right side). Insert the Extension Legs (41) into the treadmill. Make sure that the Extension Legs are turned so the Base Pads (36) are on the indicated side.
3. With the help of a second person, set the Console Base (6) on the Right Handrail (32) and near the right Upright (14) as shown. Route the Wire Harness (26) through the bracket on the Right Handrail (32) as shown. Refer to the inset drawing. Push the Strain Relief Clip (88) onto the Wire Harness.
7 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form.
8 BATTERY INSTALLATION The console requires two "AA" batteries (not in- cluded). Alkaline batteries are recommended. To install batteries, open the battery cover as shown below. Press the batteries into the battery compartment, with the negative (Ð) ends of the batteries touching the springs.
9 After you have moved the speed control to the RESET position, slide it slowly upward until the walking belt begins to move at slow speed. Carefully begin walking on the walking belt. Change the speed of the walking belt as desired by sliding the speed control.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Unplug the power cord. Caution: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) in order to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. 1. Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right.
HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left thumb, press the storage latch and hold it. Pivot the treadmill until the frame and foot rail are past the storage latch. 2. Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands, and lower the treadmill to the floor.
12 c. Check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill near the power cord. If the switch protrudes as shown, the circuit breaker has tripped. To reset the circuit breaker, wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in. PROBLEM: The power turns off during use SOLUTION: a.
PROBLEM: The walking belt slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD . Using the allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn.

15 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown in the drawings below. Move slowly as you stretchÑnever bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
