5 AMPLIFIER ST A TUS LEDS The LEDs provide the f ollowing indications: 1. P ower - This LED illuminates RED when the amplifier power is tur ned on with the remote input (output muted). After a shor t time dela y this LED will tur n GREEN (amplifier ready).
QB ASS/QBASS PLUS SPECIFICA TIONS QB ASS TM ( DCX 300.4 ) Up to 18dB of boost centered at 40Hz, with a Q-f actor of 2. QB ASS PLUS TM ( DCX 600.4, 1000.4, 800.5 ) Up to 18dB of boost with selectable center frequency at 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz or 60Hz, with a Q-f actor of 2.
WIRING Bef ore beginning, disconnect the negativ e (-) ter minal of the batter y prior to connecting the amplifier to the positive (+) 12V terminal to pre v ent a shor t to ground and potential damage to wiring and equipment.
same precautions f or routing these wires that you f ollow ed f or running the power and remote turn on wires. Cut off e xcess and, using wire strippers, strip 1/4-inch of insulation. Locate the speaker/remote turn-on P ower Loc k TM connector . Loosen the outer screws on the underside of the connector .
GROUND WIRING Locate an area near the amplifier(s) that is metal and clean an area about the size of a quar ter down to bare metal. Inspect the area around and under neath to be sure you will not drill into wires, brak e or fuel lines, etc. Dr ill a pilot hole in the middle of this area.
CURRENT DRA W The f ollowing is a basic f or mula to be used as a guide to deter mine current dra w . Y our ne w DCX amplifier is more efficient than most other amplifiers. This formula is to be used as a guideline. Using wire of a larger gauge can only improv e the current transf er of your system.
PO WER WIRE SIZE A minimum of 8 gauge or a maximum of 4 gauge wire is recommended dependent on the application. The ground wire must be the same gauge as the po wer wire. PO WER LOCK CONNECT ORS Once you ha ve run both the pow er and ground wires, then connect the cables to the amplifier .
modules. This feature permits the creation of a mono channel for a suitable subw oof er or center channel. Der iving the mono channel is accomplished by using the Left Channel P ositive wire (L+) as the positiv e speaker wire and the Right Channel Negativ e wire (R-) as the negativ e speaker wire .

AD V ANCED INSTRUMENT A TION INPUT The Adv anced Instrumentation Input has been incor porated from the legendar y Precision P ower TM 2500F1 . This circuit completely isolates the chassis ground from the audio circuit of the amplifier and reduces noise radiated into y our signal cables b y up to 40dB.
QB ASS PLUS On DCX 600.4 , DCX 800.5 , and DCX 1000.4 amplifiers, w e’ve tak en bass control to a higher le v el with QB ASS PLUS TM . The two QB ASS TM s witches (labeled 1 and 2) on the front end of the amplifier allow y ou to select one of four frequency centers 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz and 60Hz.
Y our ne w DCX amplifier has a TC-X Crossov er (T otal Control X- over ® ) 30Hz-4kHz (see this guide for Crosso ver Chart).12dB per octav e phase correlated crossov er built-in to provide superior system fle xibility without the added e xpense and installation of an outboard crossov er .
