Note: The cables running from the battery to the rear of the car should be installed on the side of the car opposite to the antenna. When using 16 gauge wire or larger , run the speaker wires from the amplifier location through the v ehicle to the speak ers .
Note: The amplifier comes with the connector inser ted into the amplifier with the wire c lamping screws in the up position as shown belo w . Use a 2mm hex head wrenc h to secure the wires to the connector . If the connector needs to be unplug ged from the amplifier , use a 2.
wires as close together as possib le, and use the same gauge wire f or both. This will ensure that y ou ha v e a good g round path, and ma y eliminate such potential prob lems as engine noise and ov erheated amplifiers.
375W = 31.25 Amps total current dra w 12V If the same amplifier is driven into a 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm mono load, doub le it’ s 4 ohm RMS rating. These amplifiers will eff ectiv ely doub le their pow er at this load. 250W X 1.5 X2 = 750 watts 750W = 62.
PO WER LOCK CONNECT ORS Once y ou ha v e run both the power and g round wires , then connect the cab les to the amplifier . Cut off e xcess wire, and using wire strippers, strip the ends of the power and g round cab les appro ximately 1/4 inch. Locate the Po w e r Loc k TM pow er and ground connector (supplied).
FR ONT PLA TE DIA GRAM 1. Cooling Plenums: Maintain a minim um 2” clearance around cooling plenums f or proper amplifier cooling. 2. Speaker/Remote Connector: The P ower Loc k TM speak er connector . 3. Output Xo ver Freq. Control: Use this control to adjust the sub bass output signal crossov er frequency from 30Hz to 4kHz.
QBass frequency control adjustment. 12. RCA Outputs: RCA outputs provide HP/LP/FULL 30-4kHz signal to another amplifier . END PLA TE DIA GRAM 1. Cooling Plen ums: Maintain a minimum 2” clearance around cooling plenums f or proper amplifier cooling. 2.
INPUTS There are two sets of RCA jac ks on the front end of y our amplifier . The RCA cab les from y our source unit go in the set labeled INPUTS . If your source unit doesn’t ha v e RCA outputs, then add a set of RCA plugs (a v ailab le at y our dealer) to y our front or rear set of speak er leads (see dra wing belo w).
QB ASS PLUS SPECIFICA TIONS Note: Not a v ailab le on the model A500/2 amplifier . QB ASS PLUS TM Up to 18dB of boost with selectab le center frequency at 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz or 60Hz, with a Q-f actor of 2. Optional QB ASS REMO TE TM This boost control can be mounted in the dash and will supersede the boost control on the amplifier endplate.
QB ASS PLUS/QB ASS REMO TE On A800/2 , and A1000/2 amplifiers, w e’v e tak en bass control to a higher le v el with QB ASS PLUS TM . The two QB ASS TM s witches (labeled 1 and 2) on the front end of the amplifier allow y ou to select one of f our frequency centers 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz and 60Hz.
