8 3. Us ing bar tool, roll c hain around guide bar to ensure all links are in bar groove. 4. Lift up tip of guide bar to c heck for s ag. Releas e tip of guide bar , then turn ad- justing sc rew 1 / 4 turn c lock wise. R epeat until sag does not ex ist.
9 THROTTLE LOCK- - OUT The THROTTLE LOC K- - OU T must be pres sed befor e you c an squeez e the throttle trigger. This featur e prevents y ou from acc i- dentally s queezin g the trigger.
10 WAR N I NG : The c hain must not move w hen the engine runs at idle s peed. If the chain mov es at idle s peed refer to CAR - BUR ETOR ADJ USTMEN T within this manual. Avoid cont act with the muffler . A hot muffler can caus e serious burns. T o stop the engine mov e t he ON/S T O P sw itch to the STOP pos ition.
11 Start ing could r equire pulling th e star ter rope handle many t imes depending on how badly th e un it i s flo od ed. If engine f ails to s tart, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING T ABLE or call 1-800-554- 6723. CHAIN BRAKE WAR N I NG : If the brak e band is worn too thin it may break w hen the chain brak e is triggered.

14 LIMBI NG S Alway s limb a tr ee after it is cut dow n. Only then c an limbing be done safely and pr op- erly. S Leave th e larger limbs underneath the felled tree to s upport t he tree as y ou work . S Start at the bas e of the felled tree and work towar d the t op, c utting branc hes and limbs .
15 NOTE: It is normal for a s mall amount of oil to appear under the saw after engine s tops. Do not c onfuse this w ith a leaking oil tank. S ON/STOP Switch - - Ensure ON/STOP sw itch func tions pr operly by mov ing the sw itch to th e ST OP position.
