Operations Manual (OM705-00) 2 Cleaning Instructions The VS15XAD VitalScreen Medical G rade Monitor will continue to operate normally while being cleaned in a fashion normal for a hospital env ironment. That includes cleaning with a dam p (wrung out), m ild soapy cloth.

To help the m edical device designer evaluate the suitability of these displays, Planar has also conducted EMC testing to IEC 60601- 1-2 as it can be applied.

Operations Manual (OM705-00) 6 Product Contents and Installation Before unpacking the monitor, prepare a suitable work space. You need a stable and level surface near a g rounded wall outlet in an area that is relatively free of glare from sunlight or other sources of brig ht light.

Operations Manual (OM705-00) 9 Connecting A C Pow er 1. Plug the receptacle end of the AC power cord into the AC power adapter, then plug the power connector of the adapter into the power port on the monitor. This power port is located on the back of the monitor near the DVI connector (Figure 3).
Operations Manual (OM705-00) 10 Connecting Optional Stereo Speakers 1. Connect the supplied audio cable to the line- out port of the computer ’ s audio card. 2. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the m onitor ’ s line-in port (see Figure 5, which also shows the v ideo cable attached).
Operations Manual (OM705-00) 11 Connecting the Optional T ouchscreen If y our monitor has this optional feature, connect the monitor ’ s 9- pin D-sub serial port to the computer ’ s 9- pin RS-232 serial port using the cable that cam e with the touchscreen packag e.
Operations Manual (OM705-00) 12 Using the On-Screen Display The OSD m akes adjusting the display setting s quick and easy. Using the OS D, you can adjust the brightness, the v olume, the OSD ’ s position and the lang uage for the options in the display.

Operations Manual (OM705-00) 16 On-Screen Display Lockout OSD Lo ck The monitor incorporates an OSD lock out function. Pressing the three controls Function select down , Adjust , Adjust [Buttons 2, 3, 4] simultaneously will lock out the OSD. Monitor setting s cannot be altered at this point, but navigation throug h the OSD menus is possible.
