1 C HAPTER 1 The LCD Monitor Your new LCD Monitor! Your LCD Monit or has been des igned to be versati le, ergonomic an d user-fr iendly. The LC D Monitor is capable of displaying most standards, from 640 x 480 VGA to 1280 x 1024 SXGA.
User’s Manual 2 1. Display Module The display is an 18.1” dia gonal, Active Matr ix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD). The screen is capa ble of supporting a maxim um resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA). 2. ▲ Function ▼ Select Buttons These two butt ons allow you t o select the control func tions in the OSD.

Input signal ports The monitor can accept signa l input from either a tra ditional analo g 15-pin D-S ub VGA connec tor or the 24- pin Digital V ideo Interfa ce (DVI) c onnector. If both cables ar e connected, the Input P ort option in th e OSD can select whic h video inp ut is displaye d.
User’s Manual 4 Do not force the Monitor pa st its maximum ex tension in either direct ion. You could damage the Monitor and the Monitor stand. Positioning Take a moment to pre pare a suita ble place t o set up your works tation. You need a stable flat dust-free surface with good ventila tion.
Chapter 1 5 3. Make sure the signa l cable is secure to both the monitor and P C. Tighten the connect ing screws to ensure a secure connect ion. If both analog (15-pin D-sub VG A) and digital (24-pin DV I) input ports are con nected at the same time, the signa l input ca n be sele cted with the OSD (On -Screen Dis play) me nu.
User’s Manual 6 2. Connect the D -sub 9-pin RS 232 connect or end of the PS/2 to R S232 cable pro vided with the optional t ouch screen package to the 9-pi n RS232 serial por t at the back of your PC . 3. Install the Touch Screen Drivers to your PC.
7 C HAPTER 2 The Display Controls The LCD Monitor’s Display Controls This chapter covers the LCD Monitor’s O n Screen Display ( OSD). Using the OSD you can adjust the contrast, brightness, displa y position, di splay clarity, and color tempe rature, etc.
User’s Manual 8 Basic Setting CONTRAST To adju st the con trast le vel of th e display . BRIGHTNESS To adjust the bri ghtness level of the disp lay. VIDEO LEVEL Fine tuning the input signal v oltage level. Perform this func tion whenever the PC graphic card is changed.

D ue to output tim ing differenc es among various VGA cards, you m ay initiall y experience an unstable or unclear display whe n a new display mode or new VGA card is selected.
13 A PPENDIX D Optional Video input function Monitor with optional Video input function If your LCD Monitor is with Video input function, the display can be dir ectly connected to a Video device such as VCR, DVD, ca mcorder etc. for Vi deo display. The Monitor i s compatible with NTSC/PAL sy stems.
