1 CHAPTER 1: Getting S t arted Your THEATER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card is an advanced, analog TV tuner card that represents a vast improvement in both video and aud io quality over previous PC TV tuner products. The THEATER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card uses hardware MPEG encoding and digital audio.
2 Getting Started System Requirement s Hardware • Intel® Pentium® 4 or Celeron®, AMD Athlon® or Sempron® (or compatible). • Sound card and speakers. • 128 MB of system memory; 256 MB or more is recommended for best performance. • Motherboard with free PCI or PCIe X1slo t (as appropriate).
3 CHAPTER 2: Inst alling Hardware This chapter will g uide you through t he physical installatio n of your THEATER™ 5 50 PRO TV tuner card. Quick Inst allation Experienced users and sy stem administrators can follow these brief instructions for installing the THEATER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card in the shortest possible time.
4 Installing Hardware Det ailed Inst allation The following instructions will take you step by step through the installation of your new THEATER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card .
5 Inst alling your THEA TER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card 1 T urn off the computer , m onitor , and other peripheral devices. 2 Unplug the computer ’ s power cord, and disconnect all cables from the back of your computer . 3 Remove the computer cover . If necessary , consult your com puter ’ s manual for help in removing the cover .
6 Installing Hardware 10 Plug the input dongle that came with you r THEA TER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card into the A V IN connection. 11 Attach your S-video source and/or composi te source to the p roper input on the input dongle. 12 T urn on the monitor , and then your computer .
7 CHAPTER 3: Inst alling Sof tware This chapter will guide you through the installatio n of the drivers and software associated with your THEATER™ 550 PRO TV tuner card.
8 Installing Software T o install drivers 1 Start your system. When the Found New Hardwa re Wizard comes up, click Cancel . When the System Set tings Change window asks you to restart your computer , click No .
9 T o install software (PowerCinema ) 1 Run the SETUP utility agai n. If your CD-ROM aut o-run is not en able or the SETUP utility does not start automatically : a) Click the Start button in the task bar. b) Click Run . c) Select SETUP.EXE from the X:PCMSETUP.

15 Video Recording Sto ps Unexpectedly • Video files are typically very large; ensure that you have sufficient disk sp ace. • Ensure that you are recor ding to the correct hard disk - check the Record on Drive setting in the Media Center by clicking on My TV , then Settings , then Recorder which takes you to the Recorder Storage page.
