6 1 1 1 1 Unpacking and Placement Un packi ng Pro cedu re The t wo components which comprise the SXCD CD player are packaged for maximum p rotection. To o pen, sit each bo x upright and cut th e reinforced tape at the to p of each b ox. Each mod ule can now be r emoved.
7 2 2 2 2 Instant I nstall If you are like us, the first thing you will want to do is to pla y your fa vourite pie ce of music through y o ur new SXCD Compact Disc P layer. T he follo wing instructio ns are written to enabl e you to achieve this as quickly as possible .
8 Switch on prea mplifier Turn on your preamplifier. Switch on po wer amplif ier Turn on your power amplifier. Plug CD playe r into AC m ains Please check the voltage labe l to ensure t hat your unit confor ms to the mai ns volta ge i n your region then connect to the AC mains using the AC p ower cord supplied.
9 3 3 3 3 Electronics Modu le Front Panel Functions Status LE D This b lue LED indicates the status of your SX CD co mpact d isc player. Off This indicates t he po wer to the CD pla yer is switched o ff. On The LED constantly illuminat ed indicates the SXCD is powered and either playing a disc o r is in an idle state read y for a disc to be played.
10 Pressing and holding this b utton will scan bac kwards through the currently playing disc. Upon releasing the b utton, the disc will play. If the star t of the disc i s reached the disc will stop Stop Pressing this butto n sto ps a disc that is playi ng.
11 Rear Panel Functions Transport Interf ace The 50-way header allo ws c onnection to the SXCD transport unit using the r ibbon cab le supplied . Caution! This header is polari sed, please not e polari ty of m ating plug when co nnecting the ribbon cabl e.
12 If you alread y have a s uitable high-qualit y digita l interco nnect equipped with R CA co nnectors, please use the supplied ad apto r to convert the B NC output to RCA. For m or e infor mation o n digital outp ut specificatio ns, plea se refer to Chapter 12.
13 The SXCD co mpact disc p layer facilitates this functionali ty b y allowing the internal master clock to be disabled and sourced from an exter nal d evice, such as an externa l digital to analo g converter (D AC).

16 Disc Drawer Functions Disc Drawer The disc drawer glides out to accept a compact disc and retracts to play it. Place the disc in the drawer label-side up and make sure the disc is p roper ly centred in the tr ay. The disc dra wer is normall y op ened b y pr essing the EJE CT button.

27 No disc present Check that a d isc is inserted for the SXC D to pla y. No volume sett ing Make sure t hat the volume on your prea mplifier o r integrated amplifier is set to a suitable le vel. Incorrect inp ut Confirm that t he SX CD o utput is connected to the approp riate source input o f the prea mplifier o r integrated a mplifier.
