4 STEP 1B CONNECTING THE RECEIVER — NET350R NO TE: Skip this step if a receiver will not be used. 1. Plug in the supplied powe r adapter to pow er-up the P e lcoN et. Be sure to use the correct pow er supply adapter (c onfigure if needed). 2. Attac h a monitor to the Video Out c onnector .
5 STEP 2A CONFIGURING THE NET350 USING HYPERTERMIN AL NO TE: If you do not want to configure P e lcoN et using HyperT er minal or NET- M anager , refer to the P elcoNet NET350 manual for instructions on configuring Pe lcoN et using a web brows er . 1.
6 4. If using W indows® 2000, NT , or XP , skip to Step 5. Otherwise, double- click Hy p e r t rm. ex e . This opens the HyperT erminal application. 5.
7 7. Change the Bits per second field t o 19200 . 8. Change the Flow c ontrol field to Non e . Click OK . 6. Change the Co nnect using field to the COM port of the computer to w hich y ou have c onnected the serial cable.
8 9. Y ou are now r eady to c o nfigur e P elcoNet. T y pe ser v ice (lower case). Pr ess Enter . This br ings up the menu. 10. Pr ess the i key to acc ess the IP menu. 11. Pr ess the i key again to set the IP address. T y pe the new IP address P elcoNet will be using on the network.
9 STEP 2B CONFIGURING THE NET350 USING NET -MANA GER NO TE: If you do not want to configure PelcoNet using HyperTerminal or NET- Manager, refer to the PelcoNet NET350 manual (C2907M) for instructions on configuring PelcoNet using a web browser. INST ALLING NET -MANAGER 1.
10 CREA TING THE IP POOL To change existing IP addresses, you first must cr eate a pool of IP addresses. To d o so: 1. Click NetM anager in the W indows Star t menu t o start the program. 2. Click the IP P o ol button in the NET -Manager view window .
11 3. Click the Add… butt on to open the A dd IP Range box. 4. Enter the start and end addresses of the r ange. 5. Enter the subset address int o the subnet input mask.
12 CHANGING THE IP ADDRESS 1. Click the List button. A list of found P elcoNet units will be displa yed in the NET -Manager view w indow . (If NET -Manager is not alr eady started, click Ne tManager in the W indows Start menu and then click the Start scanning… button in the dialog box t o search the network.
13 5. Click the IP P o ol… button if you want to edit the IP pool. 6. Click OK to implement the change of IP address. The window closes and the new IP address appears in the view window . 4. Do one of the following: a. Click the Ob tain automatically from IP P ool option if you want NET -Manager to assign the new IP address.
14 STEP 3 FINAL CONNECTION SETTINGS If you changed the transmitter and receiver IP addresses in STEP 2, then use the new addresses to connect to the units. Also use the new addresses to make c hanges to an y sett ings. If no changes were made to the IP addresses in STEP 2, use the default address for the transmitter (10.
15 6. T ype the tr ansmitter’ s IP address in the Liv e v ideo receiv er IP address bo x. Click Set . 7. Set Live video auto-connect t o On. Click Set . 8. Installation is now c omplete. (Note, howeve r , that y ou must install the A ctiv eX ® platform in order t o view live video on the browse r .
