2 RQT7372 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read these operating instructions carefully before using the unit. Follow the safety instructions on the unit and the applicable safety instructions listed below. Keep these operating instructions handy for future reference.
3 RQT7372 System SC-PM29 Main unit SA-PM29 Speakers SB-PM29 The model number and serial number of this product can be found on either the back or the bottom of the unit.
4 RQT7372 The remote control A Battery installation Use of batteries l Align the poles (+ and -) properly when inserting the batteries. l Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. l Do not recharge ordinary dry cell batteries. l Do not heat or disassemble the batteries.
5 RQT7372 Connections l Plug the AC power supply cord into a household AC outlet only after all other connections have been made. l To prepare the AM loop antenna wire and speaker cords, twist the vinyl cover tip and pull off. 1 Connect the FM indoor antenna.
6 RQT7372 Connections Optional antenna connections You may need an outdoor antenna if you use this system in a mountainous region or inside a reinforced-concrete building, etc. A FM outdoor antenna Disconnect the FM indoor antenna if an FM outdoor antenna is installed.

8 RQT7372 A CD selection and care With this system, you can only play CDs having this mark. ( A ) Note on CD-R and CD-RW This unit can play CD-R and CD-RW recorded with CD- DA or WMA/MP3. Use an audio recording disc for CD-DA and nalize* it when you nish recording.
9 RQT7372 CDs 1 Press [ ; OPEN/CLOSE] to open the disc tray, and insert the CD. The unit comes on automatically. Press again to close the tray. 2 Press [CD q / h ] to start play. 3 Adjust the volume. Listening to the desired CDs or album 1 Press [CD 1] - [CD 5] to select the desired disc tray.
10 RQT7372 Enjoying MP3/WMA MP3 and WMA Basic operations are the same as for CD-DA. l The folder and le names you enter on the computer become the album and track names on this unit. l There can be a maximum of 400 albums and 999 tracks. l Folders that do not contain MP3/WMA are skipped.

A HighMAT HighMAT is a new way of recording and managing audio les on CD-R/RW. l The unit plays the tracks in play lists that you create. l You can create these play lists on your computer, sorting them by artist, album, and genre.

First select the disc or album title. With HighMAT, press [ e ] or [ r ] to select the method of play ( è refer step 3, on page 11).
14 RQT7372 Other ways of playing CD's By remote control only Preparation: Press [CD/ q / h ] and then [ g CLEAR]. Program play This function allows you to program up to 24 tracks. 1 Press [PROGRAM]. 2 Press [DISC]. 3 Within 10 seconds: Press [1] - [5] to select the disc you want.

17 RQT7372 The radio: manual tuning 1 Press [TUNER/BAND] to select "FM" or "AM". The unit comes on automatically. Every time you press the button: FM AM 2 Press [PLAY MODE] on the remote control to select "MANUAL".
18 RQT7372 The radio: preset tuning By remote control only There are two methods of pre-setting stations. Automatic presetting: All the stations the tuner can receive are preset. Manual presetting: You can select the stations to preset and the order they are preset in.
19 RQT7372 Cassette tapes 1 Press [ ; OPEN], insert a cassette with the tape facing out. When the button is pressed, the unit comes on automatically. Make sure the cassette is fully inserted and close the lid by hand. 2 Press [PLAY MODE] on the remote control to select the reverse mode.

High position and metal position tapes can be used, but the unit will not be able to record or erase them correctly. 22 RQT7372 Using the sound quality settings By remote control only A Preset EQ and Manual EQ You can choose one of four types of sound quality with Preset EQ or enhances the bass and treble effect of the sound with Manual EQ. 1 Press and hold [SOUND] to select "MANUAL EQ" or "PRESET EQ".
23 RQT7372 A Auto-off function When CD or tape is selected as the source To save power, the unit turns off if it is left unused for 10 minutes. This function does not work if the source is tuner or AUX. Press and hold [SLEEP, -AUTO OFF]. "AUTO OFF" is shown on the display.
