Making the connections Connect the A C power su pply cord only after all the other connections ha ve been made. 1 Connect the speakers and subwoofer. Connect the speaker cables to the termi nals of the same color. 2 Connect the AM loop antenna. Stand the antenna up on it s base until it clicks.

Placement of speakers The right and left speakers are t he same. You cannot remove the net of the speakers. Subwoofer Place on the floor or a sturdy shelf t o reduce vibrati on. Leave more than 10 cm (4 ″ ) at the rear for ventilation. Use only the supplie d speakers.
Overview of controls A Standby/on switch [ ` ], [ 1 ] Press to switch the unit f rom on to standby mode or vice versa. In standby mode, the unit is still consuming a small amount of power.
Disc Playing disc 1 Press [ x , OPEN/CLOSE] on the main unit to open the di sc tray . Put in a disc with the label facing up. Press [ x , OPEN/CLO SE] again to close the disc tray. 2 Press [CD] and then pr ess [ 4 / 9 ] to st art playback. Viewing available information You can view the ava ilable information on the display pane l.
USB You can connect and play MP3 tracks from your USB device. Do not use a USB extension cable. The system cannot recognize USB device connected throu gh a cable. 1 Connect the USB device to the USB port. Hold the main unit when connecting or disco nnect ing the USB device.
Clock and timers Setting the clock This is a 12-hour clock. 1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “CLOCK”. 2 Within 10 seconds , press [ R , T ] to set the time. 3 Press [OK]. Press [CLOCK/TI MER] to show the clock for a few se conds. Note: Reset the clock regularly t o maintain accuracy.
Sound effects External equipment Before connection • Disconnect the AC power supply cord. • Switch off all equipment and read the appropriate operating instructions. Note: Components and cables are sold separately. Using the music port You can play music from a portable audio equipment.
