Once you ’ve selected the OWC device, y ou will notice the above change in the Disk Utility application. Click on the “P ar tition ” tab in this picture.
Choose a name for the v olume. Y ou will need to repeat this step f or each volume if you selected multiple partitions. Click Apply to nish. ➄ ➅ After a few moments , par titioning will complete and the OWC Mercur y Elite Qx2 v olume will mount on your desktop .

Click “Nex t. ” ➈ Before y ou can use the drive, it must be f or mat - ted. On most sy stems running Windo ws 2000 or later , it is advisable to specify the le system as NTFS.
➀➀ Once you have nished with the formatting wizar d, you will see that y our new drive (repr e - sented as “Disk E” in this case) will display a message of “F or - matting. ” This should only take a couple of minutes if you chose the quick format op- tion.
