8 46-649 Jupiter Magnetostrictive T ransmitter - F OUNDA TION fieldbus™ 2.5 Wiring Caution: The Jupiter magnetostrictive transmitter operates at volt- a ges of 9-32 VDC (nominal voltage is 24 VDC).
8. P ower may be applied to the instrument when the installa- tion is complete and has been checked by the instrument engineer or safety officer . 3.0 Function Blocks 3.
• The permitted modes are listed for each block. • The block must be in an automatic mode for normal operation. NOTE: The MODE_BLK tar get parameter must be OOS (out of service) t o change configu.
DD_REV : contains the revision of the DD associated with the version of firmware in the E nhanced J upiter transmitter . I t i s us ed b y in te rfa ce d evi ce s to c or r ec tl y sel ec t th e as so ci at ed DD. REST AR T : Default and P rocessor selections are available.
F A UL T_ST A TE, SET_FST A TE, CLR_FST A TE: these only apply to output function blocks. (The Model 2xx has no output function blocks). MAX_NO TIFY : the maximum number of alert reports that the transmitter can send without getting a confirmation.
3.3 T ransducer Block The TRANSDUCER block is a custom block containing parameters that support the enhanced level transmitter . I t contains the J upiter probe configuration, diagnostics, and calibration data, and outputs level with status information.
3.3.3 Jupiter Configuration Parameters This set of parameters within the T ransducer Block is imp or tan t an d r eq ui r ed to c on fi gu r e ev ery J upi te r tr an sm it ter . MEASUREMENT_TYPE Select from LE VEL_ONL Y or LEVEL&INTERF ACE. PR OBE_LENGTH Enter the exact length of probe.
3.4.2 Firmware V ersion The last two parameters in the TRANSDUCER block show the firmware version of the transmitter . FIRMW ARE_VERSION: displays the version of the firmware.
CHANNEL: The number of the logical hardwar e channel that is connected to this I/O block. This information defines the transducer to be used going to or from the physical world.
HI_ALM: The status for high alarm and its associated time stamp. L O_ALM: The status for lo w alarm and its associated time stamp. L O_L O_ALM: The status for low low alarm and its associated time stamp. The TRANSDUCER and AI block ’ s MODE_BLK parame- ter must be set to A UT O to pass the PV V alue through the AI to the network.
When the M odel 2xx transmitter is initially pow ered on, the measurement engine does not have enough v alid meas- urement cy cles to make a decision about the output level.
