By following these instructions, you’ll get the best audio performance and the most list ening pleasure from your Onkyo product.

A C Fuse —The AC fuse inside the unit is not user- serviceable. If you cannot turn on the unit, contact your Onkyo dealer .
En- 4 Precautions —Continued The label on the right is applied on the rear panel. 1. This unit is a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT and employs a laser inside the cabinet. 2. T o prev ent the laser from being expos ed, do not remo ve the cover . Refer servicing to qualified personnel.

En- 10 Getting to Know the CD Play er —Continued 1 T o open the battery co mpartm ent, press the small hollow and sl ide open the cover . 2 Insert two batteries (R03/AAA) into the compartment. Carefully follow the polarity diagram (positi ve (+) and negati ve (–) symbols) inside the battery compartment.
En- 11 Disc Notes Precauti ons for Playbac k Compact discs (CDs) wi th the follo wing logo on the label surface ca n be used. Do not use discs designed for purposes other than audio, such as CD-R OMs for PC use. Abnormal noise could damage the speakers or amplif ier .
En- 12 Disc Notes —Continued Precautions f or Rental Discs Do not use discs with residue from cellophane tape, rental discs with labels whic h are peeling of f, or discs with decorati ve labels. This type of disc could get stuck in the CD player , or could damage the CD player .
En- 13 Connecting the CD Pla yer • Before making any connect ions, read the manuals supplied with your other components. • Don’t connect the po wer cord until you’ ve completed and double-checked all connections. Connection Color Coding RCA-type audio connections are usually color -coded: red and white.

En- 15 Connecting the P o wer Cor d Befor e connecting the power cord, connec t all of the other components. Basic Operation T o turn on the CD Player , press the [ ON/ST ANDBY] butto n on the unit or the remote controller . Press the [ ON/ST ANDBY] button again to set the CD Player to Standby .
En- 16 D i s c P l ay b a ck 1 Press the Open/Close [ ] b utton to open the disc tray . 2 Place the CD on the tr ay with the label-side facing up. If you're playing an 8 cm CD, place it in the center of the tray . 3 T o start playbac k, press the Play [ ] button.

En- 18 Disc Playbac k —Continued For MP3/ WMA CDs, f iles (M P3/WMA f iles) may be organized in a h ierarchy , wi th folders containing f iles and subfolders, as shown belo w . • In this manual, MP3/WMA fi les ar e referred to as fi les. Likewise, fo lders (dir ectories) ar e r eferre d to as folders.
En- 19 Disc Pla yback —Continued 6 Press the [ENTER] or [ ] button. Playback will start with the specif ied file or folder and continue until all of th e files on the disc hav e been played. T o cancel the procedure at any point, press the [ ] on the remote controller .
En- 20 Disc Playbac k —Continued 2 T o select the previous f older , press the Previous [ ] b utton. T o select the next f older , press the Next [ ] button. 3 Press the [ENTER] button to displa y the file name, and star t playback the selected file .
En- 21 V arious Pla yback Modes Y ou can select the foll owing playback modes: • Random playback • Memory playback • Repeat playback W ith random playback, all of the f iles on the disc are played in random order . 1 While playbac k is stopped, press the [RAN- DOM] button; the RANDOM indicator appears.
En- 22 V arious Pla yback Modes —Continued 2 Use the Previous and Next [ ]/[ ] buttons to select the first file y ou want to add to the playlist, and then press [ENTER] button.
En- 23 V arious Pla ybac k Modes —Contin ued 6 Use the [ ]/[ ]/[ ] buttons to contin ue selecting other items for memory playback. T o mov e up a lev el, press the [ ] button. T o continue selecting it ems for memory playback, repeat steps 4 and 5.
En- 24 Setting f or MP3/WMA The MP3/WMA preferences let you change the way MP3/WMA file information is displayed and the w ay MP3/WMA CDs are playe d. The MP3/WMA preference s can be set only when playback is stopped. 1 Press the [SETUP] button. 2 Use the [ ]/[ ] buttons to select the preference you want to change.
En- 25 Setting for MP3/WMA —Contin ued ❏ ST OP KEY ( All F olde r /Navigation/ Disable ) This preference deter mines ho w the Stop [ ] button on the CD Player works. When the ALL Folder option is selected, pressing the Stop[ ] button o nce selects All Folder mode.
En- 26 T r oubleshooting If you hav e any trouble using the CD Player , look for a solution in this section. Can’t turn on the C-7030. • Make sure that the power cord is prope rly plugged into the wall outlet (page 15). • Unplug the power cord from the wa ll outlet, wait f i ve seconds or more, then plug it in again.
