1 THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AN ASTRO START REMOTE CAR STARTER! Just like you are, Astroflex Electroni cs is concerned with the environment. This is why we are suggesting you to use the two-minute runtime when you remote-start your v ehicle to warm up engine fluids.
2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Before using this product , carefully read t he f ollowing safety precauti ons. GENERAL RULES • Never perform a remot e start when a person or animal i s inside the vehicle. • Do not allow any person or ani mal to remain inside the vehi cle when the engine is running under r emot e starter control (continuous mode) .
3 SAFETY SEQUENCE FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES Your remote start er was designed to force you to perf or m a series of actions that will ensure that the gear shift lever is in neutral position when you exi t the vehicle.
4 (2) CR-20 16 THE REMOTE CONTROL Your remote control can transmit on two diff erent channels, allowing cont rol of two separate vehicles. Up to four remote cont r ols can be assigned to your vehicle.

6 CONFIRMATION Vehicle’s confir mat ions: In all cases , your Remote Starter will confirm that command has been received properly. This will be done by either sounding horn or flashing parki ng lights.
7 E NGINE RUNTIME Your engine will stop aut omat ically after a preset time (See "Setting the r untime" on page 8). Parking lights wil l stay on as long as engine is running. T RIGGER INPUT Your remote start er is equipped with a negative tr igger (pulse) input.
8 M AIN SWITCH Main switch is usually mounted under dashboard. It i s a toggle ON / OFF switch that is used to cancel start f unct ions. It does not disable other commands whi ch remain active (alarm, lock/unlock commands, etc.). STOP Refer to the table of command on page 5 to know which button to press.
9 SECURITY SYSTEM (OPTIONAL) The current section only appl ies to an AstroStart security system ( added as an option) which must not be confused with the vehicle’s OEM system. PROTECTION ZONES Your security system can use up to si x different monit or ing devices simultaneously to pr otect your vehicle.
10 OPERATION Your alarm system has three di fferent operat ing modes, active , semi-passive rearming and passive rearmi ng depending on initial progr amming. See the relevant paragr aph for the mode your system was confi gur ed in during installat ion.
11 The following table shows t he effect that each zone has on the r ear ming cycle. Protection zone Effect on rearmi ng cycl e Hood Doors Additional sensor (trunk) Shock sensor These four zones prolong rear mi ng cycle as long as they remain in viol ation.
12 The following table shows t he meaning of zone codes (number of flashes) . ZONE CODES FLASHES ZONE INDICATED 1 System is armed. 2 A door is/was open. 3 Hood is/was open. 4 Alarm conditi on is/was detected on shock sensor input. 5 Key is/was in the r un position.
13 GLOSSARY S IREN Siren has six differ ent sounds, i.e., i t chirps repeatedly and has six dif ferent melodies (suppl i ed only with optional alar m ki t). It chirps inter mittently (shor t repeated chirps) duri ng a pr e-alarm and continuously duri ng an alarm condition.
14 UNLOCK / DISARM Press the button for 2 seconds. Doors are unlocked and alarm is disarmed, parking lights fl ash and siren chirps twice to conf irm command has been received and that no alarm condi tion was generated during your absence. If there was a violation, confirmati on is different (4 f lashes or chirps) to warn you.
15 OTHER COMMANDS ANTITHEFT (CIRCUIT DISABLER) Programmable as Active or Inactive during installation. Your Remote Starter is equipped with an antitheft syst em. This system consists of an output t hat controls a relay t hat cuts all circuits requir ed to operate your vehicle ( opt ional connection).
16 CAR FINDER Press the and buttons for 2 seconds. This function sounds horn (shor t tune) and flashes parking l ights to help you locate your vehi cle in a large parking l ot . REMOTE SILENT MODE The remote can be programmed to be used in si lent mode.
17 ALARM CONDITION CODES Use this command to identif y which zone is in violation duri ng arming or which generated alar m condition. Refer to the table of command on page 5 to know which button to press. Parking lights wil l flash number of times cor responding to code for prot ect ion zone in violation.
18 GEARSHIFT CHECK APPLICABLE TO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES If key must be in ignit ion for gearshift t o be moved out of P , your vehicle i s saf e as long as keys are kept away from childr en. If, on the other hand, gearshift can be put in gear without key being in ignition, pr oceed with this simple check.
