In stantWave High R ate was one of the fi rst IEEE 802.11b wirel ess standard compli ant products in the industry and was design ed to maximize the convenience of networking.

InstantWave High Ra t e 11Mbps Acce ss Point 3 Planning Y our Networ k Infrastructu re Net work Types An Infrastructu re network is formed by several stations and one or m o re Access Points (APs), with the stations within a set distance from the AP. Figure 1 depicts a typical Inf rastructu re network topology .

InstantWave High Ra t e 11Mbps Acce ss Point 11 Using the AP COMFig T ool The AP COMFig Tool is a Windows based u tility used to configure the AP vi a a COM port conn ection between the AP and a PC. It provides the following functio ns: • Sets AP parameters (e.

InstantWave High Ra t e 11Mbps Acce ss Point 25 Using the Access P oint Mana gement System (Advanced Configuration and Management) Once the AP is conn ected to an Ethernet network, a netw ork administrator can connect to it from any PC on the same network via the Access Point Management System (APMS) utility.

InstantWave High Ra t e 11Mbps Acce ss Point 29 LAN, then the SNM P respond packet needs to go through a router-gatew ay. The default g ateway is the path to tha t router. If you set the correct defau lt gateway, then you ca n use a PC running APMS located on a different subnet to manage t his AP.

Here you may make setting s as follo ws: AP Alias Name Assigns the AP a uniqu e name Domain Name (SSID) This is more commonly called the Do main Name but is defin ed in the IEEE 802.
