3 3. Initial IP Address Configurati o n When setting up your NPort 5100 for the first time , you should first configure the IP address. This chapter introd uces the metho d to configur e the device s erver’s IP ad dress. 4 4. Choosing the Proper Operati o n Mode In this sectio n, we describe the vario us NPort 5100 operation mode s. The options include Real CO M Mod e, which uses a drive r installed on the host compute r, and operation modes that rely o n TCP/IP socket programm ing concepts.
