The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 13 2.4.2. Memory Modules The mainbo ard has three 184-pin D DR DIMM slots which are located on the right- hand side of th e bo ard. To i nstall the DIMM ’ s in to these slots, make sure the white lever a t each side of the s lot has been pulled down to an ang l e of approximately 45 ° .

CD- IN/AUX- IN Connector Connector: CN21 (CD-IN)/CN45 (AUX-IN) Type: 4 pin un-housed The mainboard has one CD-IN con n ector and one AUX -IN connector. The CD- IN connect or is used to connect the CD ROM audio out and allows t h e system to r ece ive a ud io in put f rom t he CD R OM .

The utility panel was developed so that a user is able to bring the speake r ou t, micro- phone in connectors to th e front of thei r PC.

The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 22 Connector: CN5 (LPT) Type: 25 pi n fem ale. This par allel port is used by printers which support the SPP , EPP and ECP modes IRQ7 or IRQ5 can be selected. The ECP mode will use eith er DMA 3 or DMA 1 (wh ich can be se lected by the BIOS setu p program).
The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 23 Hardware I nstallat ion Jumpers are built on the mainboard to allow the use r flexibility to configure the mainboard sett i ngs to meet their specific requ irements. The m ainboard comes with five jumpe rs, three 3-pin and tw o 2-pin jumper.

The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 27 Managing The PC BIOS Drive A /B The mainboard can support up to two floppy disk drives. These two selection fiel ds allow you to select the floppy dri ves that ar e installe d on your com puter. Select t he correct specificat ions for the d iskette drive( s) installed on your com- puter.

Base Memory / Extended Memory / Total Memory This fie ld displays the am ount of memory det ected by the syst em during boot up .

CPU L2 Cache ECC Checki ng When you select En abled, the ECC check ing will ensure t hat the data st or ed on the L2 cache is a ccur ate.
The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 30 Boot Up NumLock Status This contro ls the state of the NumLock key when the s ystem boot s. This field is toggled between On or Off . When it is on the n umeric keypad generates numbers instead of contro lli ng the cursor oper ations.

The P4X4-ALH Mainboard Page 40 IRQ/Event Ac tivity Detect When you press the "Enter" the following menu will appear: 4 VGA When you enable th is option, any VGA signa l will wake up the system. 4 LPT & COM When this fie l d is “ON” any acti vity from t h ese device s, or their IRQ’s w ill wake up the syst em.
