3-6. SELECTING THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD FOR Y OUR SA W MODEL 1. The e xtension cord is to be a type acceptable f or outdoor use, marked with the suffix W or W-A follo wing the cord type designation, f or example - SJTW or SJTW-A. 2. Make sure the extension cord is in good condition before using.

16 1 7 5 - GENERAL CUTTING INSTR UCTIONS 5-2. LIMBING Limbing a tree is the process of removing the branches from a fallen tree. Do not remov e suppor ting limbs (A) until after the log is buc ked (cut) into lengths (Figure 5-2A). Branches under tension should be cut from the bottom up to av oid binding the chain saw .

CHAIN MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS W ARNING Unless you hav e e xperience and specialized training for dealing with kic kback (see Saf ety Precautions), alwa ys use a low-kic kback saw chain, which significantly reduces the danger of kic kback. Low-kickbac k saw chain does not com- pletely eliminate kickbac k.
