- 3 - Setting Up the Hardware Environment Connecting A ll Cables to the Network Perform the following proced ures to set up the ADSL ROUT ER. Step 1 Connect the power adapter to the po rt labeled 5VDC on the rear panel of th is device. Step 2 Connect the Ethe rnet cable.
- 4 - Step 4 Connect on e end of RS-232 cable to any free COM port in your syst em; Connect the oth er end to “C onsole” port on t he rear panel of the A DSL router.
- 5 - INTERNET ACCESS Router Mode/ IP ov er ATM ( RFC1577) (1) Run t he “ router.exe ” file saved in the configuration utility. (Go to Star t Æ Program Æ ADSL Router xx Configurat ion Utility Æ Config uration Utility .) (2) Select a PC COM port available on your computer us ed to connect to the ADSL Router’s “ Console ” port.
- 6 - (8) Click “ OK ” to go to “ Select Conf ig ” menu. Or click “ S ave As File ” to save the settings for future use. Then click “ Next ”. (9) Click “ Config ure ” button. The configure utilit y will a utomatically set up the ro uter for you.
- 7 - (6) Enter VPI and VCI n umbers. Then click “ OK ”. (7) Chec k “ LLC Encapsulat ion ” or “ VC Based Route ” or “ VC Based Bridge ”. (8) Click “ Next ” followed by “ Configure ”. Con figure utility will a utomatically set up the router for y ou.
